http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/10/18/...fold/index.html

Just follow that link, he's is talking about using a lap top to dj and so on. I thought some of you might have a few interesting words to say about this.

Apparently Jokenfold don't know WTF he's talking about

Quote:" You're pulling records out, trying to match the key, the structure, looking for the breaks. With a CD player you can put the CD in, press play and lock it in time, and it does it all for you."

^^^
hmm....try to beatmatch and avoid trainwrecks b4 u try matching the keys

and I have no comment on the CD player sentence

CNN did a report on Ultra and the WMC back in 2000, DJ's such as Oakey, Carl Cox, Donald Glaude spoke.. among other american/international DJ's, best part was the Ultra 2000 footage they had..

As for Oakey.. on some parts of the article he's got a point though..

Paul does have good points but DJing on a laptop isn't as easy as he makes it out to be. It can automatically match the music up, but it does a bad job of it. It doesn't match up the down beats. That you have to do on your own. Also it doesn't match up tempos or volume leveling. That has to be inputed by the DJ. Also a big part of DJing is having a good ear to know what songs will go together. The laptop deffinetly doesn't do that. The only advantage that the laptop gives is the visualization. It shows you the beats on a sound line (no idea what thats called). It is the users job to match them up.

These are just my oppinions, no flaming meant.

Idiocy continues. Oh well, I am done with my share of arguing. Fine, Paul van Dyk sucks, if that makes you happy.

Yep, needs a polish using teh ole photochop.

Posted by Dj Daeron on Oct-20-2004 01:27:

More than that. Needs to just redo the damn thing from scratch and this time make it the right size for an avatar.

Probably, I did not even notice it before I encountered arrows.
