Changing my Virus C against TC Powercore. Opinions?
Hey!
I bought my Virus C synth a few months ago! But i stil feel that my heart lies in the software studio!
So i think i will exhange my Virus C for a TC Powercore card with the Virus! Becuase its easier to work with in software format!
Anyone had a Virus hardware synth before and now is a TC Powercore user?
What are your opinions?
regards
Hey,
What sort of price are you looking to but that for? I've seen a TC PowerCore on E-Bay for about 350 quid, and the powercore for about 230 quid.
I'm thinking of jumping on the bandwagon. I was thinking about buying a virus c and switching to hardware. Tho I like the idea of using the power of the virus without the hassle of the hardware setup.
Have you seen a better price than this, if so It would be wicked if you could let me know.
I owned a Virus Rack Classic for a couple months and then sold it to buy a Powercore/Virus bundle.. I 100% recommend it. Keep in mind, however, that the Virus|Powercore is modeled after the virus indigo (Virus B) so it won't have the EQ and the Moog Filter that the C has.. but they dont make a huge difference really..
Aside for the obvious software easability upside.. u also get some really nice TC plugins with it.
feel free to PM/IM me if u have any Qs....
Tc Virus
Hi there.
I personally have both, the c and virus powercore, and I use both, in fact I use the c a bit more, and I like it a bit more. Probably cause I like to tweak the nobs and don't like using mouse for that. I use the knobs on the c to control the powercore virus casue they are mapped exactly the same.. Other than that both units are vicked, except the resale value of the c will alvays be better, and you know how it is, one thing you have to warry about software is support. I hope tc never ditches the powercore, cause the last thing i wanna do is be stuck with a unit that dosn't run on my new OS... Software is nice, but I think it's way to overpriced... But if you like software only, There is no way You can be dissapointed with the powercore and the virus, It's a great product..
you already have a virus. it doesnt make any sense to sell your current virus and essentially buy back an older version (powercore virus is virus b). you certainly wont be adding any new sounds to your studio rig and you probably wont be able to sell your virus c for the same price you bought it for, even if it is in immaculate condition.
One thing I wondered about the Powercore Virus - how many parts multitimbral can you achieve? I believe the hardware version has 16 parts, so can you run 16 instances of the Virus on the Powerore?
