thats actually pretty interesting, i never knew there was an older design, i think i mite like the way the older one looks better

have to agree i prefer the older one with the chrome front instead of the new plastic type fascia, strange though!

My Email

Hi there,

I am just about to purchase an Xone 62, however i was curious as to why the design was changed?, i noticed the original had a smart chrome front with black eq's then it was changed to a more plastic looking design? was there a particular reason for the change and is the first version still available.

Kind Regards.

John Fernie.

Their Reply

Hi John,

The polished steel front panel and black knobs were discontinued quire early on because they were not durable enough for the average life on a DJ mixer. These parts are no longer available.

The current finish is an oven cured powder coat over Zintec steel and the knobs are designed to withstand nightly use in a club environment.

The black EQ knobs from the Xone:92 will fit the Xone:62 EQ pots. You can order a set of these from [email protected]

Best regards,

Chris Panks.

The older Xone62 also lacked Pennes&Giles faders! <<~ main reason to get the newer one.

There are other engineering design changes too.

Go for the newer one!!

This is much better than a plastic cover Power coat is a VERY durable finish for metals.

Obviously I have never used a Xone62 and don't know if it is obviosly not plastic from looking at it.

hehehe, i just bought the XONE 62 a month agao. Wow, this mixer is *u*king amazing! I love it to death. and the knobs on it dont look bad at all. Although i am interested in asking how much i could order the black knobs. And after using the Xone 92, i would say the knobs on the 62 are much better, its actually somewhat difficult to hold the Xone 92s knobs cause there somewhat crouded on the unit. What I dont understand is, if they discontinued the knobs on the old 62 why did they put the same knobs on the new 92?
