Evil1 Is there ANY good Hardcore

I haven't heard any hardcore worth its weight in ass since Ron D. Core's Decibles of Destruction. Any one know of any good 'core?

And please don't make me piss on you by saying "Yeah, Omar Santana's new CD dude!

Thanks.

Oh, anyone have the debut PHI cd Phinalizer? I heard that it's fucking tasty.

Second that. It's all a matter of opinion but personally I grow tired of every HC track in one listen.

Worm Popper Eh.

there have been some, and you will argue this, quality hardcore tracks, namely the older Ron Desmond mixtapes. Just because something is fast does not mean that it blows donky ass.

Yet electronic music is general sucks, not innately, just because of the coporate movement, the 'alicedj' syndrome. Advil commercials have shitty house in the backround.

Damn formulaic bullshit, build up, insert cheesy vocal, then down, little up again, next track. Argh. Kids on copious amonts of e are easy to please, I guess.

Good note, but it's a little off-topic.

what sorta hardcore you after? happy hadcore, or gabba-esque ?

Posted by Qunavid on Oct-20-2004 19:54:

Ghost Smilie Fnord!

I'm after darker stuff. HHC is alright if you're in the cheesy mood; Chapter three is okay. I'm looking for good gabber, basically, which is kind of an oxymoron these days. I was going to pick up a copy of Industrial Fucking Strength vol. 3, but thought better of it and got the (then) new-ish Shiva Space comp., Lightbeams.

Any info?

I like Mark E.G hardcore sets, common the new synths (they have finally found 4 sum reason) are givin them allot more of their own tunes (for once) and its sounding allot better, my mates call it newskool.

Go to a rave and see how HARDCORE they are, jeasus the speed of that dancing, so much energy, its got to be all good !

Some of my favorite HHC/hardcore tracks...check these out...

Breeze & Styles - Chemical Love
Kelly Llorenna - Heart Of Gold (Hixxy Remix)
Plus System - Na Na Na
Hixxy - I'm Ready
CLSM - John Peel (Not Enough)
Euphony f/ Danielle - Turn Around
Breeze & Styles - Heartbeatz (Scott Brown Remix)

you arent looking in the right places if you havent found any good hardcore. theres lots of good hardcore about and it is very very varied. alot of good hardcore has been released in the past 6 months. stuff like:

uplift and stargazer - statik [raw elementz uk]

spinback and storm - your love [underground recordings] (one of my personal favourite tunes in recent times)

go back a few years and you'll find gems like:

scott brown - eternal soul [evolution hardcore] (another personal fav)

social outcast feat. carol sharland - freedom [bonkerz]

soundscape - someday soon [FBI recordings]

Q-Tex - let the bass go [evolution hardcore]

if you are partial to happy hardcore then:

eclipse - 24/7 [next generation] is a goodun.

scott brown - boomstick [bonkerz] (very dark and nasty gabba tune)

also, just like theres a ton of generic, boring trance out there - theres a ton of generic, boring hardcore. hardcore has split into many different kinds of genre now so if you want

1) hard, nasty dirty and fast hardcore - you need to check out gabba, speedcore and hardcore. good labels for this are raw elementz uk, nu energy, bonkerz etc.

2) fast, euphoric, sophisticated - you need to check out freeform hardcore. good labels are evolution hardcore, FBI recordings, etc

3) happy, cheesy, funny hardcore - you guessed it. this one seems to have come to represent all hardcore in the eyes of many people. theres still some good happy hardcore out there from labels like next gen. but this one is done to death like euro trance.

So Wrong. Oh So Wrong

That song was made by Force & Styles with 'Jenna' as vocalist originally and like many other HHC classics which got lots of play from the major dj's, it ended up getting raped by some talentless whore who wanted to make money off it, and at the same time cheapen the memories of us who heard it first time around.

DJ Promo, Nosferatu, Korsakoff, Neophyte, Stunned Guys, MC Drokz (but that's really fast, like more terror), Buzz Fuzz, Outblast, Endymion....

Posted by Derivative on Oct-20-2004 22:56:

endymion makes dirty filthy hardcore. more like gabba or speedcore than hardcore. some gabba out there is mentally brutally evil.

Endymion makes darkcore not speedcore

Cool Pfft

Thanks for the leads, Derivative. I'll check it out a bit.

Yeah, I have heard some sweet hardcore, but it was when I was living in Washington and a few people there actually knew what electronic music was. Here on Ganymede, nobody knows shit, and that's about the skinny of it. They think that those "NOW this is what I call cow shit" CD's represent electronica. Or they own ATB albums.

For the darker stuff, check out labels such as Epileptik, The Third Movement, Enzyme Records, D.N.A., Planet Mu Records...
