Problem with cart...

I have tested this by swapping carts and it seems to be a cart problem.

The base seems to be gone when I put the channel live. However, it sounds perfectly fine in headphones.

What's the problem? I was using different turntables, though. When I get home, I'll test it on my TT's

My setup:

Techs MK2's
DJM-600
M44-7 carts
HD-280 cans

TT's that I was using: Techs M3D's.

If it sounds fine in your headphone, the mixer is your problem.

Well, like I stated, when I swapped the carts, it was working perfectly fine.

Lemme break this down further:

First cart: headphones = fine, master out = not fine.
Another cart: headphones = fine, master out = fine.

I don't think I can break this down even further.

okay, check this though. if there was bass in your headphones then obviously both carts were sending a bass signal to the mixer. the mixer then only reproduced bass in one of those circumstances, so obviously, its going to be a mixer problem. try again, maybe your mixer was just doing something weird. It can't be the cart from the way you have described it -- whether you break it down more or not

did you swap the carts between the two decks, and the problem followed?
Is the problem constant or intermitten?

Look carefully at the wires coming out of the cart if you can see them (i can on mine) maybe one of the wires has broken/come unplugged/unsoldered, other than that, i dont know. As for fixing it if it is that, not sure really, suppose it a new cart, unless you're really good at soldering

hope this helps

Seems to work fine on my home turntables. Weird.

They use a Behringer console at the studio where I spun. I had to connect the setup to the console. Maybe that was part of the problem.
