Isnt that a dumb move though? To fire a coach, but let him finish the season with the team? Doesnt that take away from the movtivation of winning? Maybe it will give him some insentive to step up so that he could get a contract with some other football team, but it just doesnt make sense to me.

i think he deserved to get fired. the gators (under spurrier) never used to lose a game at home at the swamp, and under zook they've lost a fuckload of games at home. they are also out of the top 25, and i cant even remember the last time they weren't in it.

think about it...the gators SUCK and they have to blame it on someone.

sorry to cynthia and brent, but the gators suck a lot this year. they've got good players (leak, fason, etc), but when you cant even stop miss state, it cant all be the players fault. coaching has a lot to do with it and ron zook sucks.

Thats what I figured, cause I dont remember seeing him lately. Why doesnt he go back to coaching NCAA, you think he got alittle embarrassed by getting owned in the 2002 season?

Some coaches just arent cut out for the NFL.

On a side note, I believe it was Spurrier in 2002, Norv Turner in 2003 & this year its Gibbs.

he does live here....i don't think he will coach the Gators again though...I and other studnets here would lovefor him ot come back....he lives here cause for some reason he loves this town...i don't see why he shouldn't coach here though

why anyone would want to live in gville (other than for school and football) is waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond me.

good riddance you fuck! thanks for the 8-5 seasons, it was great. UF is not the place to learn how to be a head coach for the first time in your life.

spurrier will unlikely come back as it was friction between him and the ding dong AD currently at UF as to why he left in the first place. and it was that same ding dong that gave zook the position because they were friends.

yeah well i just think they shouldn't have fired him cause we're gonna have a hell of a squad next year, and to be implementing a whole new system under new coaches just screws them over. but as far as anyone wanting to live there, it may be a swamp, but at least it's not a cesspool like tallahassee... sorry had to take my shot

oh dont get me wrong....tallahassee SUCKS...i hate it so much here, if it wasnt for my friends and the noles that i love i would of killed myself by now.

he deserves to be fired but they should of waited until the end of the season. only reason it was done now is because of the alumni probably. jeremy foley better find a decent coach or we going to be in the same place in 3 years. zook did a great job recruiting but a horrible job coaching. just didnt know what to do with the talent.
