Fifa, addicted to Career mode. Won everything in England & Switzerland and Europe in 4 years and still can only get jobs with clubs like Everton. If it doesnt change in the next few years Ill be saying PES.

i'm really interested in trying the PES series but i am clueless about it, which is the latest version for PC (if it has a PC version), how old it is, and is it too heavy on graphics (my graphic card sucks)?

on PC right now it's FIFA who's better than PES

I've been playing its predecessor since 1995 on the good ol' SNES when it still had the name International Superstar Soccer. Now who remembers that .
PES is just more realistic than the crappy FIFA series where every goal you score is indentical to the other 12 you scored in the past 5 minutes. It's just too easy (yes even in the hardest modes) and the players run like they have a stick up their ass...bleh!

Yes there is a PES 3 pc version and yes it is heavy on graphic cards, and Konami did realease various online patches to help things out but it all depends on your specific system. Konami didnt do a wonderful conversion- not exactly their forte it seems. Anyways, PES4 should come out on the PC as PES3 was well received in terms of sales so hopefully they've smoothed out their act.

The ultimate experience for PES is on the PS2. I hear there will be one for the Xbox this year- interesting.

Anyways, as for the poll: PES! If you have played both Fifa and Pes and still stick to Fifa than you have some screws loose! Fifa is to PES like Britney is to trance. All flash but no cash!

I played FIFA 2004 at a mates place yesterday, and I must say that it's very fun to play. Good graphics, very lifelike player appearances and movements and good difficulty. But the pain in my left thumb afterwards... ouch

Winning 11 hands down. I always buy the two of them but PES/WE Always get me hooked the longest. I mean fifa it is so easy to score. PES on the other hand you gotta work hard for each goal and its is so so so much more rewarding. Plus masters leagu 0wnzzzz fifa's career.

Winning Eleven is for sure the best footy game ever...
but i have to say that fifa 2005 is very impressive...it has improved a lot!

Definetly Pro Evo. I've been playing Fifa since 96 and damn, the latest Fifa it kills me; I've recently joined a league in Fifa 2005 -- I fucking rule, 10-15 shots on goal per match as opposed to 2 or 3 from my opposition. The catch? I lose more than i win! Why? Well you'll find out.

You see, in Fifa 2005, the gameplay is farely stereotyped, if you score 10 goals - 7 of them will be the same. I absoloutely tear up the oppositions defence, race towards the goalkepper and shoot. Blocked. On World Class mode (which Online is played) the goalkeeper has superhuman abilities and pretty much the only way you'll score is from a cross or corner. My opposition plays a one two down the right of the 20 yard box and due to my teams poor ai i am unable to keep track of the player running into free space and crosses. With headers it's either you win it or the opposition wins it. If your opposition wins it, you're pretty much one goal behind.

This, my friends, shits me to tears....

Everytime I see a hardcore Fifa fanatic convert to PES, I have this "told you so" look on my face... makes you wonder what else you could be "wrong" about in life.

There is no contest really, Pro Ev is the king of football games, pure and simple!!

Easily PES. The gameplay simply blows Fifa out of the water.

However if you are a non-football type person looking for a football game perhaps Fifa would be better (better commentary, presentation etc), but PES just feels and plays like a real game of football. I love it.

I have both Winning Eleven 6 & 7 on PS2. I have owned FIFA 01-05. I must say that WE is a far superior footy game. The only complaint is the naming of the players (because of legalities?). I can't wait until WE 8 comes out for xbox/ps2. Does anyone know if the xbox version will support the custom audio (to add tracks)?

I have hated Fifa a lot since I've started playing Winning 11 on PS1. Was that winning 11 4 then I think... Had incredible fun playing that game. Cant play the newer ones (latest w11 8) as I dont own a PS2
