Arrow Deep, mystic psy

Recommend me some of it. Music you can close your eyes and float away to. Stuff that is, at last in spirit, similar to Shpongle.

Bloody hippy psy lovers!

Aural Planet - Liquid Incense

Posted by Doctor_Crobe on Oct-29-2004 06:34:

Cass & Slide - Opera

several mixes to choose from... Becket's Phantom's Only Mix, Stealth Mix, Excession Mix (listed in order of preference, although I like all of them)

Perhaps not exactly psy by all definitions, although it did appear on Mushroom Trance Vol 4... Very deep and haunting.

A track more easily recognizable as psy would be
Cybersnack - Tibalien, appearing on Mushroom Trance Vol 3

That has to be one of the worst tracks I've ever heard. As is the whole Irritant... minimal psy, not to my tastes at all.

Check out earlier X-Dream material, that's good psy, not minimal at all. Not all of it is psy though, they're kinda hard to categorize. Also check out stuff from Juno Reactor and Eat Static.

I suppose you've checked out Celtic Cross already?

As a matter of fact I haven't. Should I assume they are good?

not sure if these are "deep, mystic" but they've got some nice melodies and wicked beat patterns imo..

Astrix vs. Dj Highguy - Chaos
Cosma - Yok Yok

also if you can ID a tune John 00 Fleming played on his Global Trance Grooves show i believe 2 months ago, it was the 3rd track if i can recall, very very wicked synths there

bleh, i like my psy very unmystic, haha.

Astral Projection - Tryptomine Dream

^kickass tune

Been browsing through my collection looking for stuff to fit your specifications...

Sleeper - Severe Clear (from Fourth Flight - Velocity)

Excellent track, very dreamy and drifting, love the muted bell toll...
Keep the suggestions coming, I also really like this style of music and am looking for suggestions

Simon Posford's in it

I'm not totally sure what you're on about with the mystic stuff as my suggestions might not work, but i'm presuming you mean kind downtempo/ambient with psy elements in ?

If so try

Crunchy Punch - Innersphere
Ultravoice - Children of the earth (Ambient version)

if these aren't the kind you want, then ignore them, but 2 class tracks imho

Eat Static
Shulman
Children Of The Bong
Blue Screen
Audio Science

I must admit I haven't heard it myself, but their album "Hicksville" is music in the same style as Shpongle, at least according to discogs. And as P4z! said, Simon Posford is part of the project. If you're looking for music similar to Shpongle I guess you can't come any closer.

Thought I'll bump this. Here's a couple of recommendations of my own:

Mystery Of The Yeti 1
Infinity Project - Mystical Experiences

And yes, Celtic Cross was great. Really great.

Nugen - Deliverance

Younger Brother

I don't think it is exactly mystic, but I still think it warrents closing your eyes and drifting off. As far as Posford's style, it feels like a cross between Shpongle and Hallucinogen, especially the 2nd half of the CD which is a bit more energetic.

Btw, this is my first post here, hello.

I was planning on buying that. Probably at the same time I'll buy Doof - Let's turn on.

Anyway: Welcome to TA.
