Sneaker Pimp PvD AND Tiesto the SAME DAY in Washington DC!

Unbelievable, November 24th:

Paul van Dyk @ Radiate @ DC Armory 2pm - 2 am.
Dj Tiesto @ Godskitchen @ Glow 1am - ...

I really hope PvD doesn't close the night, or else some of Tiesto's set will be missed...

Also... George Acosta @ Glow on November 22nd...

This is gonna be insane... TA heaven will be in Washington D.C. November 24th. Seems like Ibiza 2 n' shit.

VERY VERY VERY INTERESTING

maybe I can get mah crew to hit up tiesto after radiate...how much are the tickets to the wankers event?

Posted by QuickStep on Oct-12-2001 22:19:

Oh shit! I was gonna come down and go to the Ultrawolrd party anyways. Now I get Tiesto too!!!!!

Are they putting Tiesto at club Z? I can't stand how small that club is though. I'll survive it for Tiesto. Thanks m8, now i'm really excited about Nov!

I will be going. who else will join me? Glow is at Insomnia now. i hope Insomnia will be better than Zei and cheaper too.

DJ Tiesto searches for sunrise

I'd really be interested in seeing Tiesto because I have not seen him ever. However, if given a choice between the two, I'd rather keep on seeing PvD if he is spinning till the wee hours of the morning, which I dont think will happen. If this is the case, I am willing to leave the armory after PvD's set is over and head out to Glow. Can someone post info about tickets?

Posted by Rajeev on Oct-13-2001 04:27:

Paul-itics of Dancing

btw, Glow is an extremely cool club. I'd have to drive 3 hours to Mythos in Charlotte to hear music like that. You DC kids are extremely lucky.

Insomnia? Ok, I just read the site about Insomnia and it sounds way better then Zae. I tlooks ten times bigger! AND I also read that Tiesto is playing a SIX, that's right six!, hour set. Holy shit, I'm gonna die.

I've never done meth before, but I might need to to keep up with Tiesto for SIX hours.

Hope to met up with all of you. Definitely need a TA breakfast before the Ultraworld party, or even dinner before Tiesto.

Thumbs up Glow@Insomnia

Info for those interested in the "new" Glow...

42,000 watt Custom Made EAW Sound system, brand new (arrived from Canada mid-september). LARGE main room, DJ booth ON THE dance floor (unlike Zei). Great A/C, sometimes too cold. "Dance cage" on dance floor. 2 Large main bars in main room. 2 VIP areas. Laser light show and movie projector "thing." Upstairs on 2nd floor: HipHop and International.

MANY times better than Glow@Zei. Go to www.clubglow.com and go to "Gallery" to check out pics.
Glow@Insomnia is NEXT-DOOR to the MCI CENTER.

Glow recently made a partnership with superclub Godskitchen and now the last saturday of every month, people from Godskitchen come and REDECORATE Glow and bring along Godskitchen DJs such as Tiesto, Ferry, Armin, etc...

Expect Godskitchen tickets for Tiesto to be anywhere from 15 - 25 dollars... (not available yet)

Radiate tickets for PvD on sale at Ticketmaster, 35 dollars.

Any TAs coming, drop a message here and say whether you'll be at Radiate, Godskitchen, or BOTH!! I'll definitely be at BOTH! This is gonna be WILD!!!

hey guys,

i am seriously considering buying some plane tickets and coming over there from seattle from the 22nd-26th (only $189 round trip ), to catch george acosta, and pvd/tiesto. there are no plane tickets on the 25th so the 26th will do

so since im not familiar at all with the club scene over there, can someone educate me? does it appear that "glow" starts at 1 am? so then, if the armory thing ended at 2, odds are i would catch tiesto's set if i left to go to this other place? is there any chance the time slots are going to be posted for either of these events to make sure?

also, does glow (or wherever it is being held at?) have any age limits? i am 20, so i obviously can't go if it is 21+.

are the two places somewhat close together? i still dont know what we are going to do for means of transportation while there..

and also, any suggestions on cheap places to stay (hotels, hostels, whatever).

yea, anything would help id love to come over there!!!

Let me try and help you out a bit...

Glow opens doors at 9 pm (or 10 not sure)... featured DJ starts at 1 am, in this case Tiesto. Pete Moutso (very good resident DJ) will probably spin until that time. Glow and Radiate are 18+.
Radiate ends at 2 am, and HOPEFULLY they don't make PvD end the show at 2 am, because if he does we will have to miss some of PvD's or Tiesto's set.

The DC Armory is approximately 10-15 minutes from Glow, different parts of DC. The armory is behind the Capitol, near RFK Stadium, and Glow is more near the White House (next door to MCI center), you might want to check out www.mapquest.com to get exact directions.

Sorry I don't know much about cheap hotels/places to stay in the area.
www.dcpages.com might have some info though. Use the search engine.

ALSO NOTE: NOVEMBER 23RD, FRIDAY, DEEP DISH @ BUZZ
I don't personally like Buzz, even though it is the biggest club in DC... some of you ravers and people into the rave atmosphere will love it though... www.buzzdc.com

Invisible Grin PvD & Tiesto on the same night? How cool is this!

I was going to skip PvD @ Radiate because I was afraid that his set would be too short (12 hrs / 6 DJ's in main arena = 2 hrs (maybe more) for PvD). Now that I know Tiesto is going to be in town, I can't pass up both!

Anyone know when PvD is starting or how long he's spinning? I really hope there's no overlap w/ Tiesto, but I'll stick with PvD if there is.

Tiesto starts at 1 AM, doors close at 5 AM... so that's a 4 hr set (max) for Tiesto.

"Event Capacity" @ Glow (Insomnia) is 2000 people. Think it will be a problem getting in Glow after Radiate? I guess if you have tix, then it shouldn't matter.

Tickets for Glow: God's Kitchen feat. Tiesto

Anyone else planning a road trip from North Carolina? Rajeev?

PS, club Mythos in Charlotte, NC is cool, but we still don't get the global talent like DC does. DC people, consider yourselves lucky!!

I saw 'em both last weekend. I don't care to see Tiesto and PVD in the US again. They spin a bunch of old shit I don't care about. I want to see them in Europe. Read my reviews so you won't be dissapointed.

Posted by Rajeev on Oct-17-2001 02:37:

road trip?

Ugg, thanks for posting the link. I got my tickets.
I most probably will make a road trip. chewie and some of the carolinaspins crew should be coming too, and we haven't made any definitive plans yet...but we should all be meeting up for sure.

where are you in NC? If you are in the Raleigh-Durham area, you are welcome to ride with me. Hit me up @ [email protected].

Sothis- This is a good idea, I flew to Atlanta to see Paul Van Dyk (because I was too lazy to drive by myself ..hope you can make it

cheers

where is tiesto gonna be (address)

does anyone know the adress of god kitchen or whatever. thats the place that tiesto is gonna be on the 24th of nov. in DC. also, if there is a dress code there and the age limit too.
im trying to hit that up right after radiate, and im wondering if its really far from the armory. thanks.

Posted by Rajeev on Oct-18-2001 02:28:

Godskitchen

Godskitchen is a superclub in Birmingham, UK, www.godskitchen.com.
Tiesto is one of the resident DJs there.
But Tiesto will be spinning at club glow in Washington DC, www.clubglow.com; hopefully you can find directions on their website.
I do not know how far the armory is from club glow, but I need to. Hence I shall post this when I find out.

cheers

I think this was already mentioned...

but there is no official dress code apart from construction boots and very baggy jeans... but I'd suggest to dress casual but with style. This is a nightclub not a rave so you know the deal.

18+ is age limit.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
*busts out crying*
Damn, that's the worst thing that could happen.... now I either have to stick around for PvD's set and miss half of Tiesto's, or miss half of PvD's and go see all of Tiesto's........ talk about life-changing choices.

Someone should email Radiate and tell them to schedule PvD earlier in the day!!!!!!

Tiesto is scheduled to DJ from 1 am to 5 am, hence a 4-hour set which isn't too bad.

Also remember...

Oct. 27 - Matt Darey
Nov. 3 - Armin Van Buuren
Nov. 10 - Ferry Corsten
Nov. 17 - D:Fuse

All at Glow!

Well, I live about 45 min. from DC.

Yes, I'll probably go to see PvD at Radiate. But Tiesto? I saw him at Glow in March.

Man, Glow sucks dick! That's the worst shithole I've ever been to. It's very small, hidden from view like you wouldn't believe, has absolutely no parking at all, nobody knows who the hell is spinning, the DJ's are seated very far and you can't see them. Plus, Tiesto sucked that day! I even left early

I honestly don't know why these famous DJ's choose shitholes like Glow/Zei. I hear that even Buzz is better (never been to Buzz though).

Well Eugene, the Glow you knew before is gone for good. It is Glow@Insomnia now... Glow moved to Insomnia from Zei in August. Brand new sound system, lighting, very large main room, everything new and improved.

I suggest you make a visit to see one of these great DJs perform at Glow, and you might agree that Glow is the best club in Washington D.C.

OK, I take that back... Maybe I should give Tiesto another chance? Will it be possible to see both PvD and Tiesto? How far is Insomnia from the Armory?

If I can catch them both on a single night, woo-hoo.. that will be quite a night, I hope. A girl has already agreed to come with me Don't know if that's good or bad

My question is, why do these famous DJ's spin some shit instead of TRULY GREAT records? Like Major League - Wonder, Armin - Communication, I mean come on! You never hear them include these epic masterpieces. Nowadays it's all some stupid prog that hurts your ears. Tiesto was a co-producer of many of these epic anthems, why doesn't he spin THEM ??? Take another masterpiece, that Tiesto remixed: Subtle by Design - Sirius. What a powerful, beautiful anthem, with a great beat! But he's never played it in a set. Okay, so when I saw him last time he kicked off with Aria-Dido and played Silence (I think), but that's hardly enough.

If I was a DJ (which I hope I will be soon ) I would play lots of these anthems!
