superstar posted this in another thread. i liked it so much that i've taken the liberty of threading it.

lets learn something about a beautiful place and some beautiful young people who need a little more than what they were given.

great video..

so the iranian government harbors terrorists, has wmds and a nuclear weapons program. on top of that the people are desiring a democracy.

hmm...

why dont you think the same about iraq then?

Posted by Q5echo on Nov-01-2004 04:22:

i don't understand.

do you think i don't like Iraqis?

i hope i haven't given you that impression all this time (although, that would explain a lot)

i want to see the Iraqi people fulfill whatever destiny the moderates feel they can. i'm not a hater of Islam, but a very harsh critic. Bush has given every indication that he is the same.

haha, no i dont think you hate the iraqis... i just thought you just said that you thought that the best aproach would be to let iran deal pretty much with its own problems, so my qestion is, why dont you think that the same aproach would be the best for iraq?

sorry for not responding to you right away. i left to see Cheney speak. i was so close i could have spit on him...didn't though

i obviously did not make the decision to topple Saddam and his sons. if i were the president, i honestly cannot tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, i would have made the same decision. but when the day came after Bush gave him 48hrs. to comply with 1441, i was 100% behind the decision. and still am.

i am one of a handful of conservatives that believe Iran is a completely different scenario, altogether. while others become hawkish towards Iran (usually a liberal), i believe that there is still hope for change, and so does Bush. he has the government of Iran isolated between freedom. not just metaphorically either. take a look at a map.

yeah, i have to believe in change. it's silly not to, but i have the luxury of living in a country that has the will and the firepower help it along if necessary.

i definitely believe in the change too, tho i have a feeling that somehow Iraq would have been better of if they took their own path. Clearly it seems like they are not 100% ready for democracy yet, and they are too pride to get help from someone else to do the job. But time will show, hopefully democracy, freedom and peace will come to everyone in iraq soon.

thats amazing a very very well done piece by ny times

i'd like to hear what some bush supporters think because this obviously challenges a lot of the assumptions the bush administration would have me believe about iran

pure propaganda crap from the americans

if iranian people want to change their regime , let them do it by theirselves

Exactly!!

But knowing US I doubt they'll let the Iranian people decide on their own without any influence.

Posted by Q5echo on Nov-13-2004 03:03:

i think it's safe to think that the world is correct in many of their assumptions about Iran.

the same , i think, applies to Bush. he should know full well the differences between what the people yurn for, and what the powers within are capable of including the goals involved with exporting jihad.

i believe that Iran's nuclear ambitions can exist ambivolently. within our lifetimes it will need to for the sake of the country and it's children. but given the governments history and current policies they are not exactly entitled to it yet.

and who brought the facker to Iran?

Posted by Q5echo on Nov-13-2004 05:57:

will you enlighten us?

Posted by Fir3start3r on Nov-13-2004 11:47:

What?
If you're trying to make a point make it...
I'm really not sure what's trying to be insinuated here...

To answer the question though, the revolution is what brought Khomeini back to Iran; to take power as "Leader of the Revolution", and later "Supreme Spiritual Leader".

Khomeini was no friend of the States (or anyone else around Iran) that's for sure. He's the one responsible for the US (and other countries; including Arab ones) becoming buddy/buddy with Saddam in the first place.
