Hey guys... need your help..
You guys might know of an LCD panel/dash display that displays your RPM, and speeed and most importanly what gear you are on...
Im looking to see because on the 6th gear gearbox.. i kinda forget sumtimes which gear im in and keep looking down on the stick to check, i don't wanna case a war when the dam thing blows up.
Anyone know of any products out there?
What car do you have that has 6 gears?
These are usually reserved for the upper levels of speed machines.
You should put your hand down on the stick, and after you while you will figure out exactly which ger you are in by its position, and by the speed and revs you are doing.

LOL
Its actually a little research for my boss...
He bought himself a nice RX-8 that he lets me drive when im a nice worker, but since hes like older... after 2 minutes he forgets which gear he's in...
which is kinda scary in principal... lol.. no u know wat i mean... in city driving u only use 4/5 gears.... but sumtimes u just can't feel it properly... unlike the 5 speed corolla ive got...
Any help please.. ive looked hard.. but only found one for a motorbike...
What a waste of a RX8, you will have to break it in probably.
He wouldn't want to fit one anyway even if you can get one, because it will no doubt void the warranty, and he will not want that.
I had a 6 speed car once and to save trouble would go from 1st to 2nd to 4th to 6th, using every second gear pretty much.
seeing as an RX8 redlines at i think 6500, you could get TONS of gauges that hook up on top of your dash that will read your RPM's.. doesnt it already have that gauge though? thats strange :
You could also get something more fancy: the S-AFCs
Looks something like this:

It does a bit more than what you're asking for but its also good for your car and if youre using it right, you can get the most out of it in one way or another...
shows you the RPM's youve got (on top of other fancy graphs they show ya)... nothing about the gears (or at least i dont think).. how does one forget what gear they're in? u can always put the clutch in and check... put it in Neutral and put it back in gear. I know thats not the smartest thing to do, but as long as you keep your revs controlled, then im sure you will be able to do it without a problem.... until you get used to the car/clutch/gears...
now, askign for it to show you the speed youre going at, i wont even touch on that... dont you have a gauge in the dash?! :P
Hi guys/babes...
The problem he has is that he hasn't learnt it...
Don't judge or anything... he's an old guy... 55....
So im just trying to help him out... In the AUTO RX-8, there is a gear indicator (remember im loking for something that tells you WHICH GEAR YOU ARE IN...) but only in the automatics, i guess he can learn the gears, but that will take him a while.
Thanks for the help..
tell him to turbo it and get a greddy boost controler. taht displays RPM not sure about the gear though.
