i feel like a complete moron

so i had indoor soccer today for the same team ive been playin for, for 4 years. and i dont mean to toot my own horn, but for 4 years i was our best player. we finally reached a division last year that we couldnt win so we decided to make cuts and add some new additions to our team. so we got 5 new solid players, with the same skill level as me and even better. so now im no longer the superstar. anyways im on a line as a midfielder with two of the best of the newest guys. sounds like a good idea to have 3 solid players on one line right? nah. its horrible. each of us is trying to be the superstar non of us will pass tho we're the only line that is scoring. anyways todfay i got so fed up with it. i was on the field and the striker finally gave me a beautiful pass. i ran up the field with it and was abt to make a pass when a guy came out of nowhere and fouled me hard. he took meout and ripped open my knee on the artificial turf. ref didnt call it. my team knows me to be vengeful and do stupid shit when that sort of thing happens so they start yelling at me to get off the field. but nuh uh mother******, im aggrevated from my line and now im wiled up and im getting my revenge. so i run back to defence, ball gets cleared from our zone and gets intercepted by that same guy who fouled me. so i come running at him with the after burners on. and i came running hard. all of a sudden i wasnt even thinking abt doing it but for some reason subconciously i decided to take out his knee while running full blast. now let me tell u what i did, i would have put this guy in the hospital and he prolly wouldnt have never walked normally for the rest of his whole life. thnk god i realized what i did, and pulled away last second so i missed his knee. now i missed his knee but it looked so aparent that i was trying to take his knee out it wasnt funy. the ref blew the whistle and came to my face and was ready to kick me out of the game. the guy came into my face and tried to punch me. and i had to walk away with my tail in between my legs cause i was totally 100% in the wrong.

i feel like a fuckin goon right now. why u do the things u do sometimes who knows. at least i pulled away tho. i could have really hurt the guy badly. thnk god i didnt. poor guy was a split second away from never walking again

Ah, adrenalin. A wonderful thing, is it not?

Posted by Vivid Boy on Nov-01-2004 05:39:

you know the funny thing is everyone who was there was like it didnt look that bad. but the thing is they werent me, and they didnt know what i was planning on doing. i was planning to put a guy out of commission for his life just because the ref didnt call a foul.

thats badd ass

but that artificial turf hurts

i was playing intermural soccer with the kin students at mcmaster a couple of weeks ago.. and i was taking a pass from a midfielder (i was playing forward) and this short dude about half my size.. comes at me.. and headbutts me full force in my stomach..

i flew like 8 feet back and fell in a huge dish of mud..

it hurt a bit.. but hte reff didnt call it.. the guy appologized and everything but it looked pretty intentional for the half a second i saw it

Its a good thing you didnt take his knee out cause that would have been on your concience for a loooooooooong as time

not to mention he would have a bad knee for the rest of his life

play by the rules.. thats why they made em

haha man i totally understand what you went through, last year i played intermural soccer at ryerson and i got a red card coz i tackled someone hard after the ref never called them for a similar offense.

Props for not taking the guy out. I went through 2 knee surgeries and let me they you they are not fun.....

Posted by Pett on Nov-01-2004 06:45:

you did the right thing, you should have just given him a face wash thou or something.

Posted by StereoPrincess on Nov-01-2004 16:05:

well, you could have just did the same thing to him as he did to you, not any more damage is required.

yeah adrenaline is crazy.

i do that shit at clubs when people push me.

Shoulda taken him out, sliding tackle from behind, hack him down at the knee's...then when he's on the deck, kick the ball into his stomach and tell him to get up...when he does, headbutt right on the bridge of his nose and a quick knee to the groin before the ref and his team pulls you off him...

That's how i remember playing the 'beautiful game' back in Africa.

I dont blame ya, or think you should feel like a moron.
well maybe for making it so obvious, but in my case, I certainly would have come back and put my foot on his ankle while giving him a shove to potentially snap it, if not just sprain it.
******s cant just do shit and not get called.
cmon eric, you arent a dumbass, be DISCRETE.

however, im glad you didnt take his knee otu. knee injuries are brutal. anyhow, get him next game. Maybe clear the ball into his nuts with a nice follow thru to the boys as well..that works more in outdoor cuz the ball can just trickle out of bounds as he graps for some air for his injured boys.

They sure are. 70% of the fibres in the MCL in my right knee are toast due to a football injury 2 years ago. Can't run for more than a few minutes before I can barely use that knee.

Posted by Rocco on Nov-02-2004 01:22:

that's why i love goalkeeping. 90% of the time, i can get away with the nastiest of tackles

it's been a while since i've taken anyone out... not that i remember for the time being

Posted by infinity HiGH on Nov-02-2004 07:05:

haha, was this game at 8:30pm? Cause my friend had an indoor soccer match at 8 on sunday...that'd be crazy if he's on your team, or on the other team...or if he was the guy u tried to put in the hospital

Posted by Vivid Boy on Nov-02-2004 23:05:

nah it was at 10 o clock
