Bush Wins Florida; Ohio Too Close to Call

By RON FOURNIER, AP Political Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) and challenger John Kerry (news - web sites) traded big-state victories Tuesday night, then sweated out a tension-packed conclusion to the race between an embattled incumbent and a Democrat who questioned the war the Republican waged in Iraq (news - web sites). It all came down to Ohio.
Votes Electoral Popular
Bush 237 51%
Kerry 199 48%

Bush won Florida, the state that went his way four years ago after a 36-day recount and Supreme Court decision. Kerry hung on to the Democratic prize of Pennsylvania, but had precious few places to pick up electoral votes that went Republican in 2000 Ohio, Nevada, Colorado and New Hampshire.

"I've given it my all," Bush said after voting in a firehouse at Crawford, Texas, hoping to avoid being the first wartime president bounced from office.

The news keeps saying that Ohio has large Dem. counties that have yet to be counted but the numbers arent really changing. I think if Bush wins Ohio he's in for 4 more

whats the point of having elections when the peoples vote doesnt matter? i smell 1984.....

Bush just got New Mexico! Giving Bush 274 and a win.

As long as Ohio remains Bush's he has the win. It's still a bit early to claim Ohio for certain. It's looking real good for bush so far. Expect anything though.
