melody is really nice... awful kick tho...

Posted by DJ-Kreing^^ on Nov-06-2004 15:26:

Sounds great Luke! Very uplifting and energetic melody That's the kind of old school uplifting trance which I like so much.

Posted by trickysaer on Nov-06-2004 15:26:

ya, sounds great agrees about the kick though, sounds a bit too "standard". could also be the quality. but anyway, sounds real energetic, would love if you made an awsome break to this track. one that really brings it down in tempo, hiding the energy in the track and suddenly unleash all of its power kinda like ace's delight - mental theme (ultra trance remix) good luck with the track!

Posted by _Marco_ on Nov-06-2004 15:34:

awesome melody!

Posted by Mane on Nov-06-2004 15:53:

sound very good but you put too many frequencies on melodie :P

Posted by music2dance2 on Nov-08-2004 16:41:

sounds good man i dunno what it sounds like so i think your ok there.

Posted by JoeyEnv on Nov-08-2004 17:23:

Total tune mate. Agree with whoever said the frequencies are too fluent though... I think the synth sounds too rich but thats only an opinion. I'm just about to upload summin similar btw.

Top tune.

I like it! What ever synth you used for your lead sounds nice! Now finish that track!

Posted by Jay M on Nov-09-2004 15:06:

Luke, I'd say go on with this. Doesn't sound familiar to me (not that I am all knowing). It'll be a great energetic trancer!

Posted by JMF [TrAcId] on Nov-09-2004 18:55:

haha, i must be getting really old because thats way too fast for me

nice riff though, will probably be good when it's done, agree about the kick though, something a bit more bass would work better.

really awesome piece........ loved it

cant wait to hear full version

Posted by carl-b.mine.nu on Nov-10-2004 10:13:

I've listened to it a few times now and I think it sounds abit like a marc dawn or nu-nrg production..

lead is maybe abit too harsch.. my ears gets quite tired after awhile...

Posted by M-X on Nov-10-2004 12:09:

very nice.

get it finished mate, another blinder.

Posted by Timothy on Nov-10-2004 12:12:

great melody

Posted by DRM on Nov-10-2004 17:15:

im doing a prog mix of this if i can be arsed to finish it, and although the melody sounds well too happy n energetic for prog it actually works pretty well

Posted by Derivative on Nov-10-2004 21:05:

the kick is fine. its quite paul van dyk in thats kind of round and clean with not very much sub but i like that. its also clean and prominant all the way through the mix and i know from experience how hard that is to do. you twatted the filter cutoff too much though! once you sweep in the main melody theres too much mid and top end and the hats and bassline becomes barely audible (!!! - not sure how the bass is inaudible cuz it shouldnt be sitting that high. nonetheless i can barely feel it there). you can hear your offhats interfering with the main synth, especially towards the end. its a cracking good tune though but careful with that filter - the rest of your track is being pushed back by that massive lead. maybe try widening that or the hats in stereo. the bass needs to come up a bit. you have a pretty constant and massive sub in there so that may or may not be a problem. maybe shelf off everything below 50 hz on the bassline and bring it up with a compressor and whack the gain up a bit? or a bit of a sharp boost on an EQ around 65 to 150 hz? im not sure if that will hurt the kick or not cuz the kick sounds a bit higher and tighter than the ones i make.

the melody doesnt remind me of anything so id say you are good to go. nice job on this one.

Some great energy there Luke, good to see you took my advice to post some stuff up here

I agree about the richness of the lead though, or it could be some distortion, I don't know. It sounds very full, perhaps a bit too much.

All the rest seems nice to me, looking forward to the full tune

Cheers,
Wim

WAY too much highs IMO. Unfortunately lots of samples here have that problem, I can barely listen to this, my ears hurt.
Apart from that it sounds great though

Posted by dbl on Nov-24-2004 04:13:

was looking for another thread when i found this.. hehe

i really like the lead.. but the kick just suck's.. change it got damnit.. hehe

Posted by Massive84 on Nov-24-2004 15:01:

ya it clips Luke.

Awesome lead imo, very dark and nice, remind me on stuff from Fatboy.

though the lead does sound a bit to loud, it's eating up the bass, and the perc arn't very clear.

would like to hear a a full version or something when you finish it.
