Looks like you conservatives might have it your way

Those of you who urged US voters disatisfied with the result of the election, might like this:

Article

I find it peculiar that the article focuses on whether or not security has decreased because of Bush's re-election. I thought that what haunted the leftists were the prospect of living under the reign of an ill-advised monkey for four more years

They can go be defeatists and leave by all means, but if they truly want change things they should stay here and fight for their causes or whatever beliefs they might have. To leave just shows us lovely Republicans that we've won.

EDIT
(Oh yeah! we did!)

let them have no respect for this system of peaceful transfer of power.

Good riddance

That is a great idea. All of the liberals can go to Canada, because they lost the elcetion. boo hoo.

If you are a liberal and you do move to Canada, you are a pansy. The next election will happen in 2 years. Instead of pouting in Canada, keep on working for your cause, even in the off years.

The presidential election is every 4 years, but congressional seats are up every 2 years, along with a number of governor and senate elections.

Oh don't get so full of yourself, it wasn't like the vote was overwhelmingly favoring Bush.

Besides, if we left this country wouldn't survive

I beleive only one state has this power, and that is Texas. They can succede via a vote of their state congress, in which 2/3rd of must vote to sucede. Theres been talk about California eventually doing this (in 50-100 years) via a popular vote. Depending on the state of the nation, the US army would almost certainly take back any state which sucedes...by force, if necessary. I dont think anyone will be doing this anytime soon though.

Hmmm. I don't know about secession, but I am aware that Texas can legally break itself into something like 5 new states under some caveat in its state charter. I'd have to defer to Yoepus for specifics, but that's how I understand it.
