tyler c - epoch | new epic trance tune

hey all

i actually posted this yesterday, along with reviews of a bunch of tunes on the site, but i guess the server hiccuped and all my posts were lost, along with my account. so i had to re-register and go through that whole process again.

anyway, this is my first submission to the TA masses. i've been producing in this epic trance style for a while now, so im trying to move away from it for a while. i tried to get all the trance out of me in one tune, and this is how it turned out.

any feedback i could get would be apprecitated

tyler c - epoch

Nice, like the start & hook and also the breaks, bit of a sucker for breaks. Dunno why but I didn't expect that crash and then the kick.. it sounded good nonetheless. You deffinatly kept a nice steady pace all the way through which is always good, plus everything sounds in time and well cordenated to. Gonna go download it now tbh .

thanks man. glad you liked it

hi, this sounds cool i like epic stuff the, main synth is well nice. The bass is cool to, what do you use to produce? The arp is good and the breakbeat, not sure what else to man this is a good track.

awesome tune man, i've been listening to it a few times to try and give some constructive criticism, but i have none.
really nice tune, awesome vibe and excellent production.
it's funny how you said you came up with this tune, trying to get all the trance out of your system all the best with your future breaks endeavours!

Posted by tylerc on Nov-10-2004 03:31:

thanks a lot for the comments guys.

phomo - yea, its kinda ironic eh? i know ill end up back at trance eventually, as ive told myself many times that im gonna venture away from it for a while and i always end up back where i started

thanks again for listening!

It's a little bit fluffy for me personally, but it sounded pretty damn good, even on my crappy laptop speakers. I even forgot what i was listening to halfway thru, thinking it might have been the mp3's of all the new records i bought this week.

How's Madtown holding up these days Cody? I miss it, but Savannah is pretty neat (and it's only now starting to get cold at night!).

Posted by tylerc on Nov-10-2004 04:53:

hey mitch

thanks for checkin out the tune man. its cool to hear feeback from a (former) local dude, cuz theres no was i would put any of this stuff on madfam.

madtown is alright tho. its gettin cold as shit here tho. there are some pretty good nights going on, but everyone is doing stuff on thursdays so i cant get to all of them. as you may or may not know, obsession got canned after last month, so theres not a lot going on other than melodic sessions at the casbah.

who do you suggest i get some demos to for some sort of trance/prog gig?

btw, its Charley..Cody is close tho

This is one tight track.

Good job!

If you want some advice, send your stuff to aload of labels in the UK, your garanteed to get some feedback, this is a style that DJ Precision would play - So maybe Somatic Sense or something - I dunno, but just send it to anyone!

Loved the break, was good stuff :-)

Great stuff man, keep it up!

I got nothing bad to say about it, Tyler, you've also grown a lot musically in the year or so since the last time I've talked to you. Great synths and great hook melody, very pro stuff.

Posted by tylerc on Nov-11-2004 01:46:

hey man, thanks a lot for checking it out. i still dont think this even almost measures up to the stuff you're putting out. im glad you liked it tho!

*Bump..ish*

Tyler how do I download your tune, I can't find anywhere that says download. .

Posted by tylerc on Nov-11-2004 21:35:

as of now i have the downloads disabled, sorry. i may put a clipped version up with downloads on later. we'll hafta wait and see if this tune goes anywhere.

Posted by tylerc on Nov-15-2004 21:45:

*final bump*

anyone else??

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Nov-15-2004 22:13:

Stream? Suxor.

Cool opening.

You're kick's release is kinda long. It gives this drony undertone that's a little distracting through the opening.

Nice bassline.

Nice sound at 2:03.

I like the lead too.

I hope these vocals are restricted to ornamental vocalisations.

Oh, hell yes! Rewind time! 4:20 - 21 is the mutherfuckin' shiznat right there! You own my soul, baby!

Sorry about that, moving right along. I like the acid stuff leading out of the chorus.

Damn, you are after my heart. 5:44 - 6:39 is the most kickass breaks section I've heard in a long time. Put your hands in the air! That bass synth takes me away.

Damn, why do you not have a downloadable version of this? You have done something to me with this song that trance hasn't been able to do to me since BT released Sunblind. You have made me go absolutelutely insane. And I'm not just saying that.

Posted by dbl on Nov-15-2004 22:20:

hmmm... aren't you at SS or something?? recognising your name.. hehe

it sounds really nice
i recognise some of the samples that i have myself

really nice melodie

sweet percusions

and the breakbeat is nice too.. don't really like the times when the kick's is coming kinda close.. the "faster" part that's coming from time to time.. if you get what i mean.. hehe..

but relaly nice track.. would realy like to hear a higher quality version

Posted by dannyc on Nov-24-2004 01:42:

WOW how did i miss this one, this is wonderful, the break is and the lead synth is beautiful and clean, bass is also great always a fan of the rolling basslines, brilliant maybe needs a touch mastering in some places other than that i love it you should defo send this off man

Posted by tylerc on Nov-24-2004 01:44:

thanks a lot dannyc, glad you liked it!

i retouched the mastering a little bit. i sent the new version off to a bunch of labels yesterday, we'll see what they say!

wish me luck

Posted by DJ Vale on Nov-24-2004 18:45:

Fingers crossed for you mate :-)

Posted by tylerc on Jan-25-2005 02:28:

i was kinda unsure whether or not i should bump this, but what the hell.

just wanted to say that i've updated the sample on my site. i actually fixed it a long time ago, just never gotten around to updating it on my site. its available for dl now too.
