Paint the Sky with Stars - The Best of Enya

I was going through my cd collection when I came across this beauty.
Timeless electronic masterpeice.

My favs. :

Storms in Africa <----PURE BLISS
Watermark
Paint the Sky with Stars

I'd hardly class Enya as 'electronic', HOWEVER! Rather good none-the-less, my favourite would be Book of Days.

Storm In Africa is one of my favorite musical pieces ever.

Watermark, her first full album, contains what I think is her best and more soulful work. It has only grown on me over the years.

I should have just posted another thread about PVD, Tiesto, or AVB. Or maybe yet another top ten thread. Or better yet, maybe a thread about an obscure progressive artist.

People who listen to Enya need to be shot in the head.

Twice.

I appreciate the intelligent and thoughtful input you've brought to this discussion.

From my experience, newage music provide an excellent material to remix... so do you guy know any decent remix of Enya song? (hopefully something from G&D)

TA

The lack of any electronic instruments would be a give-away for me.

LOL

Caribbean Blue is probably my favorite energetic track of hers, but there are a ton that I like. On My Way Home, Memory of Trees, Orinocco (of course), Book of Days, Storms in Africa, Boadicea... (list goes on and on).

Listened to Enya before I got into quality EDM, and I still like to hear her once in awhile. Besides, the Novacaine remix of her LotR track that's featured here is tight.

-The works of G&D are well documented. Enya is not among them.

If you've been living under a rock, then you may not have heard of Saltwater, by Chicane. I believe that's Enya's sister, very similar sound. Great song.

Besides that, I believe there's a remix of some Enya song that's been playing recently, Terry (Bones?). I forget, I didn't like it so much. And, as I said, the Novacaine remix of one of her LotR tracks featured here.

Ewwww. Grade A coffee table music. No thanks.

If you like this then you should check out The Memory of Trees by Enya. IMO it's one of the best albums ever produced, together with Chicane's Far From The Maddening Crowds.

but yes enya is considered new age, along with the celtic music .. can't name some at the moment ..

but others similar to them would be enigma and delerium (which is considered electronica)..

but great band .. great band ..
