Annie - Chewing Gum (Mylo Mix) [679 Recordings]

The original version is one of the best elctroish pop songs that has been produced in a while and courtesy of richard x behind the producing table the track is awesome. but then you have this down right immense remix of the man of the moment mylo. mylo took what was great with the original and just excelled it to immense hights. and also on one of the cds's there is the greatest hit as the b-side, also a great song and with the late erot as the producer. be sure to check this one out

She's hot, she can sing and that song completely pwns.

Most of you trancewhores, have no clue what her real claim to fame was but her b.f was the house genius (now legend) known as EROT. Sadly he passed away some years ago from heart and lung complications. She released a tribute to him, which ranks in my top 20 records of all time. Now she has grabbed smart producers and she will go far and I hope to interview her.

It's Chewing Gum, and the original is appaulingly shit pop music that grates my nerves every time I hear it. I cannot fathom why it was chosen as the first single from an album that apparantly has so many better tracks to offer.

I doubt these remixes can change much of my opinion on this track, but Mylo seems to be getting an awful lot of attention lately, and his remix of Dark Globe - Feed was pretty nice. Will check.

edit: Hehe, TTA beat me to Annie's bio

Yes, but I'd rather go listen to Greatest Hit again than expose myself to this drivel.

I'd ask her about crossing over, deejaying and EROT (r.i.p, such a genius)

i know it is called chewing gum, i posted it to fast, didn't notice it. but yes tehre are many better tracks on anniemal but they already released the greatest hit like 2 years ago and that one can not be beaten. but i do love the producing work of the ryksopp boys on someof the tracks on anniemal

Annie does actually DJ if I'm not mistaken, I've seen her listed a couple of times at various norwegian venues. I think she prefers the pop artist road over the DJ career since she can express herself more that way.

montana: Yea, I've heard nothing but good stuff about her album otherwise, so I won't complain there.

Hearing this on King Unique's EM just now. The vocals are total shit, the production itself isn't too bad.

and Heartbeat produced by the Ryksopp guys is also nice.. the reason why chewing gum became first single must be because its the most catchy and maybe most commercial sound of all the tracks (i still like it though)

Agree. I really love the Mylo Mix, big fan of Mylo! Scottish hero IMO!
His CD 'Destroy Rock & Roll' is great, and so is this remix! (available for download at city16.com if interested)

Ps. torontatrance, you're signature is great

Thumbs down

Frankly I think these are one of most annoying vocals I've heard this year... absolute rubbish. Production wise this is pretty poor stuff from Mylo, they did much better with that Scissor Sisters remix.

mylo is a he

Posted by Kinde on Nov-11-2004 18:40:

damn you, I was hoping no one would notice. I realised my mistake soon after posting my reply but couldn't be arsed to edit...

general consensus:
production's good,
vocal's are weak

i'd go with that

Too minimalist electro for me. 6/10

I think that that minimalism is one of the good things of this track, that he can make something that is worth listening with not many going on! The same with Mylo's own track 'Drop The Pressure' if you listen to it, you only notice a very simple beat and some samples and a kinda vocoder-vocal. But it still is an amazing track IMO.

production skill here is exceptional but the vocals exasperate me

Is there a Mylo Dub? It'd work better for me with less of the vocal.
