maybe it would help if you let us know what you will be spinning for the most part.. If it is trance, I did ok with the mentioned gemini mixer.. just cover up the bpm lights with some electrical tape or something..

pretty much trance and some hip-hop.

whast wrong with the bpm lights?

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-11-2004 03:46:

They are inaccurate as hell.
As a result, they are a distraction in normal use (if you catch it out the corner of your eye, or if you look at deliberatly), and no where near accurate enough in an emergency.

Mine had a little blinking light beneath them for the kick, and seeing this out the corner of your eye when beatmatching is bloody distracting.........

Mine have been covered using electrical tape.

so you all think i should go for that thing?

Posted by D-res on Nov-11-2004 04:27:

my bpm LED works fine. its not inaccurate for me atleast. i dont know, i dont really pay attention to it. i just use my ears. its pretty good. go for it!

The Numark Matrix 3 is a really good budget mixer for under $200. If you can still find one.

I had it and loved it.

i spent all my money on the tables couse that harder to upgrade in the future, so im talking a mixer that i can get for pretty cheap.

Pfft, nobody wants that crap, get a Xone V6

On a more serious note, that Gemini is pretty good, I played with the PS-676 (the same, but with a sampler) and its not to bad.

Get abit more dosh and get an Ecler Smac20.

Posted by on Nov-11-2004 20:07:

Buy my Gemini PS676 Pro2 mixer..

Or look at getting the Numark DXM06.. I dunno if thats in you budget... but its a damn good mixer for the price..

Posted by D Dubya on Nov-11-2004 20:09:

Posted by DannyO on Nov-11-2004 20:30:

While were at it.....I'll sell you my Gemini PMX-60 mixer, its the shit, people say its comparable to a Xone V6 Bozak or Urei, its so amazing it doesn't need EQs or even reliability.

With no EQ's it has alot of room for setting your beer down on it..

Come on ppl let's keep it real. A&H doesn't have budgetmixers as you all do.

A Numark DXM-mixer is something I wouldn't yet call budget. It's a priceclass higher. The PS-626i mixer (and 676i like some ppl mentioned) is the only low-price mixer which is of decent quality. DO cover it with a rag: Budgetfaders are VERY sensitive to dust.

And for the record: Gemini PMX-mixers SUCK ASS! :P

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Nov-11-2004 22:37:

ile tell you what, everyone that wants to sell me there crappy ass mixers that prob will be replaced after one year, send me a pm with there aim yahoo or msn!

Don't buy crap

You will have fun for a few weeks, then realise its shit and not want to use it anymore cause you've wasted your money. Save up and get something decent straight off.

I noticed u were getting STR8-100s, why would u do that? Theyre almost the same price as technics here, and u could get second hand technics for way less. IT'S STUPAHD?!?!!

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Nov-11-2004 22:53:

there cheaper here.

HEY......you wouldn't say that if you saw how much paper it can hold down.

The PMX was a result of my mum trying to get me DJ gear as when I moved here I had to get rid of my setup in england, and spent all my spare money getting drunk when I got here, but she tried, and it was better than nothing......I love my mum.
