woah that icon looks scary...anyway i just checked giant's website they updated the lineup

Paul Oakenfold
John Digweed
Mark Farina
Jason Bentley
The Crystal Method
The Killers

now giant...is gonna be fuckin bad ass. the killers rock. that is all, return to your homes

Oakey sucks
Farina plays in both SF and LA about 50 times a year, each.
Bentley plays all over LA
TCM plays in SF and LA several times a y ear.
Who cares abotu the Killers.

what kind of crowds are giant and tiesto gonna pull..i went to see oakey last nye and it was suckass... i mean terrible.. and i didnt pay to get in...tiesto..nyeeeeaaaahhhh!!! not sure...dammit...where to go...4 blocks sounds insane...and prog...but tiesto crowd should b better...what say people???

WOW!!! I actually agree with you for once!!! haha

...accept for seeing Digweed. I don't think it's worth seeing him either. I just saw him in Sept @ Mayan, and I wasn't impressed. I thought I would enjoy seeing him, because some of his live sets are amazing, but I just wasn't feeling him that night, at all. I heard he wasn't at his best @ Mayan though... so I dunno.

Either way, I won't be in town for NYE.

well Tiesto is the only person out of all those that I've seen in person, so it would be nice to catch something different... but if Giant really sucks that much, I would hate to waste a NYE event on something that's gonna suck...

most of my friends have never been to any event like this let alone anything prog/trance/electronic related, so now what to do?

i went to giant nye 2004 and i had a fabulous time. most of that was due to the fact that i got there before the chaos errupted.
so moral of the story: keep your options open, and arrive somewhat early to any nye party for maximum fun potential.

on a side note, im still undecided where ill be this nye. where to go...where to go....

Well just to elaborate on my comment. I think one of the main reason that I didn't like about Giant NYE 04 was becoz' of the venue. They packed I dunno how many people at the bonaventure and most of the time people had to wait 45 min to 1 hour just to get to a different stage and a lot of folks ended up getting stuck in the hallway for hours.
But I've been going to Giant NYE ever since the first one. The year with PVD and Sasha was the best! And I think it kinda just went downhill from there. The vibe for 04 was completely whacked.
Giant was on Flower st. in 03 (similar venue this year) and that party was quite good so maybe this year it will be ok. Like I said, I've been going to Giant NYE since 3 years ago, but last year just did it for me and a lot of other regular goers.

I think you missed the first year of giant village 2001.

2001-pvd-hollywood
2002-pvd + sasha-next of l.a. colliseum
2003-pvd-next to standard hotel
2004-oakenfold-bonaventure(this fucking sux..i agreed)
2005-oakenfold + digweed -downtown wilshire
