Total: $1255
Well, i've used the denon s1000 and to be honest, im not to hyped up about it. I like it's mp3 playback capability and it's size, but pitch, and platter just doesnt feel right. As for the headphones, i've never heard of the 7056. I've heard of the 7506, and yes they're good phones, but you could get them for much cheaper. Do you really need a microphone??? If your looking to become a wedding dj, (it actually looks like that b/c your gear choices) then i would say go for it. Otherwise just use you headphones as a mic if it's really needed. As for speakers, if your mostly gonna spin at home then a regular stereo will do just fine. I've actually upgraded my speakers w/ Klipsch Promedia 4.1 THX pc speakers and they actually sound great and get way more than loud enough for me.
Also, use www.froogle.com and get the lowest prices then print everything out and have guitar center price match it.
BTW, look into geting a pair of turntables. You can usually find more and better stuff on vinyl than on cds and the web. Most of the fun for me When i dj is just hitting up record shops and dig through crates of vinyl for that one killer track.

What's wrong with the pitch and platter? Is it just ackward feeling? To be honest I've never used any DJ equipment before so that might not be an issue for me; or would it?

but, be careful the DXM06 has a shitty mic plug in, it has the one which looks like the headphone plug, so u need a mic with that, the traduitional mic with the 3 cable connection wont work
I don't know much about CD decks, but the DN-S1000's only have 0.1% accuracy, which means that once you get decent at beatmatching you're going to need to correct it more often than you may like. For a little more money you might want to get the DN-S3000's, which have 0.02% accuracy which is a lot better. If you don't get these, try to get at least 0.5% accuracy.

| Originally posted by dj chex I just looked to verify this. It's listed @ .1%step even on 4% pitch range settings. This is actually worse than my numark's 0.05%. That's probably one reason why i didn't like the s1000 when i tried it. Also, denon tried to include the possiable use of "custom slipmats" like on the s3000 and s5000 and it just doesn't work on the s1000. Really you should look into getting a 1200, ttx, or something. My 1200s are easily my favorite pieces of dj equipment i have and used. (i like it even more than cd decks, and my empath) |
