I'm producing music, so I'm wishing for a mac
if you would pay me, I would throw this by windows operated pc out of the window and buy a g5

every os has their special features ..

apple with the great video and audio editing programs .. because of the way the graphics card processes the stuff... and pc for the necessary essentials in life ..

i have a pc to do my work. i hear C programs run well on apple pcs, because the system processes the code better than the pc. can anyone confirm that??

When I was making videos, I used an apple for the editing process. Love that editing program they have

Some good work on your website, but the navigation is weird.

Plus, youd be able to work a lot fast on a mac, i doubt youd actually never touch a mac, i wonder why, do you like seeing blue screens?

it's not blue screens anymore. it's now the "would you like to send this error message to microsoft online?" prompt now... that sucks..

i just got Reason 2.5 for my laptop pc...are you saying i should've opted for a mac?

Posted by kamil on Nov-13-2004 17:27:

^Yes, audio hardware macs and powerbooks/ibooks is a lot better than on PC.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Nov-13-2004 17:29:

I think it's pretty much common knowledge that when it comes to audio/video/image editting, Macs are where it's at. Just look at how many electronica artists use Macs in the sets.

Personally, I wish I had a Mac...like a Powerbook or iBook

Posted by AlphaStarred on Nov-13-2004 17:31:

if i'd the money i'd def. get a g5 powerbook or something...too costly for me tho

I like PCs because i like building my own computers

...and when it's time to upgrade the mac you pick it up and throw it out the window , and buy a new one.

i believe that would fall under the pc rule.
of course we can always have a battle between windows and linux in a pc box, but that's another thread, and we don't want to start that.

That's the whole bloody reason why I docked my PClaptop for a G4...
MACs never have that problem or blue screens..
and traveling with a powerbook is ALSO soooo conveinient & light!
Then comes my iPOD at home,gym...or in the car....the clarity of the iSIGHT..
shall i go on?

How do you like them applez!

Mac OSx is UNIX-like
same shell commands
I don't know about the file structure though

Posted by wiregen on Nov-13-2004 19:59:

i owned a 17" powerbook G4 for 3 months then I sold the stupid thing.

I still have my 12" powerbook, but its just collecting dust. IMO PCs perform better espcially in music APPS. All the apps I use haave PC variants.

Imagine if Apple has the same userbase as PC, you would think there will be a group of virus freaks that will start hacking the OS?

Anyways to the comment above...well they are light for being in a aluminum body...this is lighter than my 12"

Mine is a 1.7 dothan
radeon 9700!!
DVD writer
80GB 5400RPM
1GB of ram
all costs about 2200....trust me if your handy you can do all these upgrades urself...this would cost you 3000+ at the sony website

OSX is all great...i tell everyone that is considering to try the OS to make sure they want to do it...I formyself went back to PCs

You just need to make sure and dont act stupid on the net clicking on the certificates, next thing u know u have gator on ur pc. haha

once you go mac you never go back

Posted by icyhandofcrap on Nov-13-2004 23:16:

I only like OSX for the UNIX underlying :P

(Cue stories of writing mischievious Perl scripts here)

Otherwise it is PCs for me.

like what, games?

do u realize that macs arent meant for wasting time and fucking around?

id laugh in anyones face if they bought a mac for gaming......

theres plenty software available for it.

Posted by Sunsnail on Nov-14-2004 03:50:

Anything you can do on a MAC you can do on a PC (even if macs are 10x better at whatever, you can still do it on a PC) But you cant do everything you can do on a PC on a MAC. So for multitaskers, like me, who like to play with photoshop, and then play doom3, and then do 3ds max, PC is the only solution
