Tina Arena

well we all know her from that track "Never(past tense)" from Nyana.

but i feel like such a dumbass when i was reading on her biography. she has been singing since 94, and is an austrailian pop singer. She even sang at the opening ceremonies at the Sydney Olympic games. i had not heard about her until Nyana. wow.

she is putting out an album called 'Greatest Hits 1994-2004'. has anyone listened to her music before Nyana?.. just wondering...

She released a really horrid single years and years ago in the UK - she can sing, but shes not particuarly memorable.

she won a singing contest in australia when she was like 11 or some shit....
thank god we pissed her off to europe and dont hear much of her thesedays

She's pretty hot:P

She has had lots of hits in Australia, although nothing for the last couple of years.

Check out the track "Chains" - i think that was the track that started commercial success for her in 96 or around then.

As stated above, she won a singing contest called "Young Talent Time" on TV when she was young, so i guess she has always been in the spotlight.

I have heard her songs a million times, because my sister used to be in love with her and listen to her CD on repeat all day. I actually didn't mind her music. I'm a huge fan of Roc Project - Never (Tiesto Mix) though, i love that track.

She actually has an Italian background...i think she looks a little bit like Monica Belluci.

Go here for some "nice" pics of her:

nice! and i do like the tiësto remix of never. filterheadz mix is kind of ok too. i just don't really like what they did with the "i'll never, i'll never, i'll never, i'll never, i'll never, i'll never" vocals in there all over the tune.

When eva i read the gatecrasher credits and small print i always see her name, does she work for GC? yea she use to be pretty big in NZ & Aus.

"Baby, baby, im in chains!!!!!!!!!never thought this could happen to meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!"
"Never" wasn't much of a vocal performance from her but check out her earlier choons, much much better.

she sang at the world music awards one year also.

speaking of aussie pop singers, check out delta goodrem

Oh, Tina Arena is dreadful.

There is never a faster run to the radio or television remote as when she comes on with one of her cheesy balladic tracks.

She was a superstar in Australia for some time, and came out with quite a few well remembered songs that got thrashed to death, and she won heaps of award over the years, and easily goes down as one of Australia's best ever female artists.

Now I'm not dipping on her talent, she has an amazing voice and even though she has thunder thighs now was okay looking in the day for the average Australian. She did lots for the large groups of ethnic Italians in Australia.

In Australia there is always 2 things in music. One is a rock band with 3 catchy songs, and the other is a female singer that brings out touching love songs and milks the sappy tree for all its worth. Currently in Australia those 2 are Jet and Delta Goodrem. Its all a bit of a bore because they are carbon copies of the dozens of similar artists before, and although they are blessed with good voices and a little talent its not at all close enough to being innovative to get me interested.

Nice!!

But she is an annoying bitch!! I hate her voice usually and her pop songs suck, she is one of my most hated singers!!

But she looks alright in that pic above, even though it looks like shes taking a dump.

mmmmmmnipple.

She's got a good voice, don't like her music though, sappy ballads - was really surprised when she turned up on that Roc Project track actually.

Wog = slang term for people with italian/greek/mediterranean/lebanese/middle east background

Skip = slang term for "Aussies" (Australians with an Anglo Saxon background - yes we call each other that )

"Sick mayte" = what wogs say a lot

Example: Check out my Nissan Skyline Bro, it's fully sick mayte!"

Hehe, you learn something new everyday.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-15-2004 13:14:

It was nice of Way Out West to name their song after the wog's second favourite saying (after fully siick)
