Extending Samples

The subject says it all: is there any way to extend a single note, in this case it's bass, of a sample? The first note holds out for two beats, I'd like it to hold out for say ... eight. I've tinkered with this in Sound Forge endlessly so, any ideas? Thanks!

You should be able to do it easily in sound forge. you need to loop the sound by finding the right loop point where the wave's lines cross over at the same time so you don't get any clicks or what not at the cross-over point. If there are any pitch or filter envelopes on the sound though, it probably won't work too well though as the envelope will repeat iteself 4 times.
