Talking M-Audio MIDI Controller Keyboards...

Just wonderin if anyone had any thoughts/experience on these keyboards? Im particularly looking at the Oxygen 8 (Basic) or the Ozone (a little less basic).

Cheers!

Mef.

I had an Evolution (made by m-audio) MK-25c... it was good.. but 25 keys drove me nuts..

right now I have an M-Audio Keystation 61es.. it's a great controller.. has a great action... but no knobs which might drive some ppl nuts...

I bought a JP8000 recently that I'm going to use as a controller and sell this..

good plan. Is M-Audio stuff good though? Quality stuff?

I'd go for Edirol. Better velocity and not that cheap plastic feel as teh Oxygen

not really.. my Keystation is awesome.. but the action on the Oxygen8 and MK-25c suck.. very toyish-feeling...

if you want both knobs and a quality action.. get the Keystation Pro 88.. if u want just keys.. get a Keystation 61es..

but if you want both and don't feel like dishing out $500 for the Keystation Pro 88.. look into other manufacturers..

Who would you recommend then? I like the look of some of the new Korg stuff. Had a little go at an exibition I was at yesterday. Also saw some Edirol stuff but werent so impressed.

How about the M-Audio Radium? It looks like it might just be a larger version of the Oxygen.

They seem to have a few one... the Ozonic. I guess it's a larger, FireWire, version of the Ozone. Looks neat, but damn expensive ($600) for a 37 key controller.

This looks awesome too, the Korg microKONTROL:

I was thinking about getting an M-Audio USB/MIDI controller, but now I've been looking arond and finding other cool products. I've expended my options to:

- M-Audio (Oxygen, Radium, or similar) - $130
- Korg microKONTROL - $300
- Novation ReMOTE-25

I'm a little confused about the ReMOTE-25. Theres the plain ReMOTE-25 which is just a controller ($300), then theres the ReMOTE-25A which has an audio interface ($800) and can apparently be upgraded to an X-Station 25 with a free software update, but then pssl.com lists the ReMOTE-25AX which has the audio interface AND an onboard synth for $500!

What's up with that? It seems too good to be true.

dont spend crazy money on a controller, just get one with knobs and sliders, i have the radium61 i like the action and feels good for me. the knobs and all are nice and firm. some ppl say its hard to control velocity but thats some ppl. got mine new for $199. I wouldn't get anything less than 49 keys

Yes. I think this is a good point. I am looking for something to control my midi. Simple as that. And a good key range too. Thanks for your comment

I talked to Novation a few weeks ago when X-Station came out and here's the deal.

Novation ReMOTE-24 is just a midi controller with no synth

Novation ReMote Audio = X-Station. Midi controller & Synth. It's just rebranding of the same product.

Novation ReMOTE-24 Audio Xtreme - The midi controller & Synth plus bundled software.

OK, that makes sense but then why is the Audio Xtreme listed for $500 while the plain Audio is listed as $800?
