Posted by Antistatic on Nov-15-2004 12:50:

Yeah but he's hopeless behind the decks. He needs to work on that first.

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-15-2004 12:54:

Posted by gumble on Nov-15-2004 13:36:

why bother even referencing this utterly useless poll?

i bet you people also listen to triple m.

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-15-2004 13:37:

yeah fuck oath....last month was rOcktober!

Posted by gumble on Nov-15-2004 13:39:

the same 5 songs played over and over each day?

the station makes me want to kill myself.

in fact. im emailing them about it.

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-15-2004 13:41:

tell em we want to hear more muse

Posted by djway on Nov-15-2004 13:50:

Chable is an average DJ with an average track selection, even tho the top 250 DJ's is a load of bollocks, putting him in the top 100 is an insult to many many other DJ's with talent and ability.

hybrid should be up a hundred places

Posted by gilmista on Nov-16-2004 03:31:

Matthew Dekay @ 160

i have my money on him being the biggest mover before next years release!

(top 50 at least!)

Posted by G`Dave on Nov-16-2004 06:19:

Agreed, Hybrid deserve better than that.

Posted by JayKuE on Nov-16-2004 06:24:

surprised at these

129 Desyn Masiello
158 Sandra Collins
213 Steve Gerrard

ooh. i dont know gil, i have my money on masiello.
he's causing heavy vibrations atm.

Posted by tachyon on Nov-16-2004 06:40:

my $$ are on these guys:

106 Cor Fijneman
116 Hybrid
143 Lange
164 Gareth Emery
183 Guy Ornadel
205 Jimmy Van M
214 Misja Helsloot
232 Lucien Foort

a few other names such as

124 Agnelli & Nelson
233 John Creamer
241 Signum

might be on that list but i prefer their productions more than DJing...

Posted by LucasYork on Nov-16-2004 06:53:

It's all crap

I think there is 100,000 votes altogether.

So if like 20% of INTHEMIX members in AUSTRALIA supported one Australia DJ, he'd make it into the top5.

It's all about the people who actually can be fucked voting that counts.

Oh well!

Yeah I know. We now officially have no DJs in the top 100.

Agreed that he hasn't earned a top 100 spot yet (probably not even a top 250 for that matter) but he's not as bad as you're making out. While a lot of people go on about how ordinary a DJ he is (especially compared to his productions) I've seen him play a number of times and have yet to hear him play a poor set. He doesn't play the sort of music that I really normally listen to these days (melodic prog and breaks) but even then I'm usually pleasantly suprised by what he plays out. Even liked the prog-breaks warm-up set he did for Sasha last time I saw him (and I usually hate prog-breaks). Nothing to blow me out of the water, but smooth mixing and nice track selection at least.

So I dunno. He's got a long way to go, but don't forget that he didn't even start spinning until a couple of years ago (I think?). He's not a bad DJ at all considering...

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-17-2004 10:59:

playing prog in the style that chable plays, is just about the hardest style there is to play - (maybe on a par with techno - for different reasons though) - it'll take a bit of time, but he'll work it out.

How come?

Posted by Light The Fuse on Nov-17-2004 11:07:

Because its serious, deep, melodic, cheeseless and very musical. And it has to please the crowd. He has to keep two different crowds happy, serious progressive obsessives and joe blo public.

Whereas Zabiela is doing the banging thing, dropping in massive rock tunes etc. and yet while I find him to be the king of awesome, it is a bit easier to do it that way (although the technical stuff, well thats not easy)

this is why Digweed is God to so many. He makes it work.
