If you were to post a joke in response to this thread it would be a list of music that is actually tolerable!

Posted by Quinders on Nov-15-2004 16:42:

You're not serious about that are you? If you are that's the biggest collection of shite I have ever seen!!

Posted by XaNaX on Nov-15-2004 16:59:

This has to be a joke but in case its not the type of music you listed is called 'cheese'

Posted by Puuhis on Nov-15-2004 17:49:

Smartarses

Here's a few artists and songs you might want to check out:
Scooter
DJ Alligator Project
Lasgo

Warp Brothers vs. Aquagen - Phatt Bass
CJ Bolland - The Prophet
Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumpin'

OMG!! Without checking youre profile, I guess your age is between 12-15

Posted by DjSimonB on Nov-15-2004 18:32:

But seriously...

maybe some DJ Encore?
or DJ Sammy?

Posted by chesco on Nov-15-2004 18:35:

your tunes are shite.

Posted by gd_nimrod on Nov-15-2004 22:36:

Guys, WTF. I know its fun to flame noobs who like DJ Sammy, but still, show some respect.

Try listening to Mario Lopez, some good stuff right there. Namely, "Where are You" and also go for "Master Blaster - How Old R You"

Posted by DJ Rat 187 on Nov-15-2004 22:49:

I would take this one, but I it's just too easy, I'm going to look the other way and pretend this never happened

Posted by tbias on Nov-15-2004 22:55:

Often it can be difficult to create a sequel that can rival the original, and in this case I think its impossible.

You have just listed the best dance tracks over the past 10 years and to try and back this up with second rate tracks is just going to leave you disillusioned and disappointed.

So I suggest that you stick with the masterpiece.

I gotta give props to this guy. He definitely knows the difference between trance and techno. I don't even think Poison has a techno mix.

Hello everybody here goes a civilized way of talking to people:
-first i'm 17, even though i hardly see how my taste in music can show my age or my intelligence.
Let's suppose that there is nothing that is called taste, and all people should know how to seperate the "GOOD" tracks from the "BAD" ones:
-It's fun to flame a noob, it really is. But tell me who isn't a noob in something in life???Do u people claim possessing all knoweledge in every field in life??i doubt that. When i discover a new thing in life i don't leave it alone, i try to gather more knowledge in that specific field. That why i'm not a geek.
-For those who said that i didn't know the difference between trance and techno, they are absolutly right, i don't, and i'm not ashamed of this. That's why io came to these forums to try to learn something, but it seems you are all selfishly attached to your knowledge that u don't even share it.

Finally, u should understand that art including music is very far from mathematics: there's no right or wrong. That's why every human being is different from the other.
NB: Excuse my bad English.

here's the song by the way. poison: (very low quality [ i have a very slow connection]

Castles in the Sky may be cheese, but I'll take some wine with it. I still like that song, although I won't play it unless it's for a bunch of hot chicks that just want to hear vocals they can sing along to.

The Dumonde mix of "On the Move" is a good track too, not as big a fan of the original though.

If you like that style, check out Sash!, Encore, Lasgo, Alice Deejay, Ian Van Dahl, Four Strings, and ATB. All pretty damn cheesy, but some of their tracks are pretty well put together.

And check out a Sasha or Sander Kleinenburg set to see if you can expand your horizons a bit. Totally different, but IMO better, sound.

Don't let them fool you - cheese is a legitimate genre, it's just that people get mad when a specific sound appears in their music, they downgrade it to 'cheese' status, though this might not be the best course of action.

I don't recognize most of the songs in your list (though the very first thing I saw in thsi thread was "Darude Sandstorm" so I knew it was going to turn into a flame-fest) but I would recommend checking out more trance first-off. Go to your local Borders or Best Buy and check out the Dance/Electronic sections there. Names you should be looking for at this point in your EDM development should probably be "Paul van Dyk' 'Paul Oakenfold' 'DJ Tiesto' 'Armin van Buuren' etc...all of them have released some REALLY class musical compilations that you might want to do some more research on before you make another playlist compilation of your own.

Good luck

k ralph, although im sure i will get wrong here and wrong there
so before others comment that way. im being real general and not specific

underneath are examples of other artist. not really what your looking for i think but if you wanna learn then its a good start

techno example: Chris Leibing, Danilo Vigorito, DJ preach, adam beyer

Trance: Above and beyond, Filo & peri, rank 1

artist that will be easier to find and less mainstream that what you have right now
Armin Van Buuren, Paul van dyk, tiesto, paul Oakenfold, DJ Sasha
