Pioneer CDJ 500MKII *limited*
Hello
would like some of your opinions on the cdj500s
With a lot of research and advice.. I had settled on the Pioneer CDJ00s with any of the entry level mixers djm300, or vextax etc. (oh and im buyign second hand) i managed to settle for a deal of $675 (usd) 2 pioneer cdj100s / 1 djm300s / grundorf case / 1 stanton pro dj headphones(i planned to replce these) anyway teh deal fell through as the seller ws beign abitch about a few things..
i guess i was lucky cos iv just managed to close a similar deal
2 pioneer cdj500mkII LIMITED
1 djm300
Grundorf case
I inspected it.. almost brand spanking new and works fineee.. the guy is genuinely selling as he has upgrded his entire dj rig. Iv allready paid in full for the decks just waiting for my cheque to clear...
iv been told the *limited* makes all the difference and adds to the cdj500 the beauty of the cdj100s .. (which is improved sound quality and precise mixing/beatmatching capability)
comments ?? thanks a bunch
it does have improved sound quality, and also a bigger jog wheel than the standard 500, and better loop out adjustments. the beatmatching capability is the same as the 100's, which isn't amazing anyway, with an increment of 0.1% as opposed to the 800's 0.05%.

Im new to the forum ... and relatively new to Dj'ing as well. Has been an interest for a few years now.. but I stuck to mixing off my laptop and more recently with TRAKTOR which I must say is wikkid piece of software !!
Came into some money and wiht a lot of encouragment from friends I have decided to tke the plunge and buy equipment to get me started on my 'vision quest'
another quick question ( i know im going to get told by the mods to use the serch
) any significant difference between the djm300 & djm300S ?
cheers & god bless.

It realy is
But you're right, we all gotta start somewhere.
blaaaaaaaaaaaaah
the djm300(S)
has no digital out... does this mean i cannot record alltogether ??
cos im keen on hooking up my laptop to record mixes & review.. to now wht to keep an sweep. lol
its goign to be atleast a 6 weeks before i can have everythign setup and on the go.. till then im gonna badger u guys with ?'s .. ehehe
10x
no you can record with it no problem, all you need is a phono > 3.5mm minijack wire
cheers buddy
whats exactly does digital out do?
usually a digital output is 24bit/96khZ, which means uber-quality. mixers with this output are generally a bit more expensive.
hmmm....

*bump*
gettin back to the original aspect of da thread- limited edition cdj500mkIIS ... no one use these?? pics of your setup would be gr8.. criticisms..suggestions.... coem on people!!!
here's the speakers im usin in my room right now.. when i have my decks i plan to hook these up initially..
my 2 Sonodyne speakers, 200 Watts, Frequency Response 45 Hz to 20 Hz, Impedence 8 Ohms
My amplifier
This is my stereo amp...
Pioneer Stereo Amplifier 401
I actually learned how to spin on these. They are solid CD players but the technology behind them are kind of old. The jog wheel isn't as responsive as newer cd decks, but that shouldn't really matter if your are learning now anyways. It'll probly do u more good in the long run.
thanx beatsmith.. your one of the few whose actully used em .. older technology tis expected outta these cos they discontinued & not a very popular series
if i hd the resource$$$ i would hv def gone with the cdj800s
i kno the 100s were pretty much industry standard in thier time ..
i chose these limited vers over the cdj100 cos was gettign the whole deal at the same price.. curious as to whether my judgement was good!!
you have turned out allright tho?? so im sure i cant go wrogn with these babies
cheers!!!
the links werent working... and im nto sure how to insert img's into the thread drirectly... anyway here goes
(*)Pioneer Stereo Amplifier 401.
(*)Sonodyne speakers. 200 Watts, Frequency Response 45 Hz to 20 Hz, Impedence 8 Ohms

I'll put it this way: alot of not-so-noob DJs consider the CDJ-500MKII-LTD to be the "Tech 1200 of CDs" -- and I totally agree.
Many clubs have the CDJ500 in one flavor or another.. they are simple, straight forwards, and (for a CD deck) dont break that often.
The MKII LTD version is the prefered version.. its got the jog wheel that doesnt suck and some other minor improvements.
whine and moan all you like saying the 800 has better pitch control and now the 500 is trash, but a few years ago when the 800 and 1000 didnt exist, the 500 was towards the top of the line.
I picked up mine for $170 off eBay, including a really nice odyssey carpeted case and shipping. Sure makes a CDJ800 seem like a horribly expensive proposition!
