Dunno Growing tired of trance...

Hey, is anyone else here growing tired or should I say, is less excited about trance nowdays? I like the music but I just see less and less quality music comming out. Most of the things are very formulaic - e.g. I remember before, the music was like riding a rollercoaster blind - that is, you feel the rush comming on and then when you least expect it, the music hits you! Nowdays, the music seems predictable and not exciting anymore.

I dunno... maybe I'm getting old or just too demanding of my music...

lots of threads about this

personally i grew tired of trance a while ago... a lot of people, including me, move on to progressive stuff and more darker tunes... however, once in a while, there is that original trance track that makes me go back to trance for only a while again...

Im discovering more house music and old skool hip-hop at the moment. Darker and more banging trance still goes.

likewise grew weary of it some time ago...although there is indeed still some Trance that excites me...only seldom though..although im always anticipating new tracks from artists like The Digital Blonde, Incolumis, M.I.K.E, J00f, and perhaps some other djs/producers.

+1

I still like goa and some hardttrance stuff. Actually when I think of it I've been listening to the same sets from Lisa Lashes over and over again...

Even the new Eminem song excites me more than the average trance that is released today :/

I know what you mean. Having limited access to the trance scene, my interests are still growing strong. But at the same time, the bar for good trance continues to raise, and it is harder finding stuff I like. I think it's the same for everyone.

We have a large rock scene where I live, and I do like rock/metal, but it's harder and harder to find good rock music. I can't stand the radio anymore, as they drive it into the ground. This is one thing that prompted me to branch out and get into EDM more. I'm even going further back into rock to find good, original music, such as the 60's and 70's.

yeah in the last year the scene doesn`t produce quality tracks like in the past but there still are several tunes that keep ya going .. maybe now adays there are alot more producers and you get alot more crap 2. I still prefer not to move on but who knows what`s going to happen.

Try switching to a different kind of trance, such as goa, psytrance or melodic trance depending on what you are used to.
Also check out www.auratrance.com. They are just amazingly beautiful!

You just quoted my 4 fav trance producers..I like you

but its true, u need a break from trance once in a while. Right now i'm really feeling the deeeeepr n darker side of EDM n i'm finding it very trippy in a way that trance doesnt work. Even techno is starting to impress me now

Posted by phl1979 on Nov-15-2004 20:27:

Not tired of trance, but it's true that the trance sound has become more flat nowadays. I increasingly find progressive, house and techno more interesting musically. But then again, there's nothing like a peaktime-hands-in-the-air-trancer...

I'm not tired of trance by any means, but I have been listening to a lot more prog lately and some house. I have always listened to Downtempo/Chill.

Posted by chojin on Nov-15-2004 20:38:

i still listen to the occasional bit, but it's true i moved on to uk hardcore

Posted by nwopper on Nov-15-2004 20:38:

Personally a lot of trance is turning too prog. for me, I miss the old epic sound. The strings, the massive buildups and huge climaxes. Okay there are a few good exceptions as 'Jump the next train' and ofcourse, ofcourse the allknown 'White Room'.... But the trancesound of today isn't that appealing to me anymore. Well, trance lost his appeal to me approx. 2 years ago.... Thank God for hardtrance!

Don't hate on me that you don't understand his music, and that i'm better than you in every way possible.

I understand armin perfectly. He plays generic trance. The fact that youd follow him blindly no matter what makes you retarded.

so why are you 'better than me'?

He thinks he's better than everyone because he's American. I read it in his posts all the time. It's one of the most ironic things i've ever read anywhere in my life.

Dude stfu. You'd be a little big headed too, if your country was the greatest country on the face of this earth. and the fact that i'm going into the us air force to be a pilot after college, reinforces the love i have for my country that you'll never understand.
