O.C. - Memory Lane EP [Electronic Elements]

O.C.- Memory Lane EP [ELEL014]

A1. Not Even Winds (feat. Nick Beman)
B1. Illusions
B2. Questions

One word: FINALLY

Available at:

Above The Sky

Not Even Winds

By far the best track of this EP
I like the male vocals on this track, and also the dark and smooth bassline is very proper in this track. The overall track just fits very well and makes one thing very obvious: you don't need all that much to make a progressive production that creates goosebumps!

Illusions

It starts of with an amplitude modulated beat, which I quite like. A sort of 'metallic' sound, bashing on tubes or so (don't know how to explain it; producing TA's would know what I mean)
What comes after is a typical zgr sound, a dark and hard bassline with a minimal beat (but it sounds very full though!) that has the kickloops that once in a while show a different pattern where you don't expect it.
You could describe this track as a mix of 'Over Nothing At All (the bassline)' and the sort of gapping melody with 'Sometimes'. Nice work

Questions

This track is not completely different either, but it's nice. zgr uses the same ingredients but in this track there is that kind of melody. I like the effects on this track, that give it a sort of ambient feel to it. The beat is quite strange, but I like that.
Has some elements that I recognize from his track 'Sometimes' too...
Nice distorted kinda melody and good too start your set with cause I find the beat quite hard too mix in It's not impossible though!

The most original on this EP is definitly 'Not Even Winds' because it has the male vocals on them. But I don't really care that much if it is more original or not, I really can enjoy the dark progressive and sometimes trancy sound that zgr creates and I think this EP is a must-have if you enjoyed his former work.

What's your favourite track and why?

I hope so too and I want them to sale all three because with the second 'Coldharbour Selections' they only had:
Mind - Random Experience
Kenneth Thomas & Elevation - Preen

But where on earth is: (FOUND IT!!!)
Filterheadz - Yimanya (Markus Schulz & Austin Leeds Remix)

a big shame!

O.C. - Not Even Winds

Label:Electronic Elements
Releasedate: out now
Rating: 7.5 out of 10 Xavier

Comment: O.C.
This Electronic Elements artist I don't know (yet). What an interesting title though, "Not Even Winds". It's a warm and well structured deep vocal track. The male vocal creates a remarkable pop music vibe, making this song a cool blend between dance and pop.

"Illusions" This track starts out rhythmic before the beats are kicking in. What we have here is an emotional dreamy flight, with strings so delicate that they seem to be capable of taking you away into the clouds anytime so that not even winds can stop you.

Electronic Elements is keeping it up with another solid release!

Just saw it, thought I'd let you know tooo I like mine better though

i believe its coming out on EE on or round december 8th.

Over all i really like all three tracks on this album but there is something about the vocal in the break of not even winds that gets on my nerves a bit.
I think i prefer illusions and questions over not even winds.

Another top notch job ozgur.

After listening it over and over I noticed that not 'Not Even Winds' is the best of this EP but 'Questions' is

Put it on loud and you'll have the same conclusion as Tayfoon

I love "Not Even Winds", Bemans vocals are so damn nice!

it's difficult... I think Probspot's Blueberry is one masterpiece too, but you can't compare it with 'Not even winds'

Ozgur is really my hero in progressive since I saw him spinning at Armada Night 22-10... (sorry for kissing arse major here, but it's true )

'Questions rocks', ....
