tiesto @ a defstar rave?

i was doing a bit more site surfin, and i read that defstar is polling people on the tiesto subject. what they are asking is if peeps would want to see tiesto at a rave, and if they should make it 18+ or not. i would go to it regardless of the venue or age limit just because it is tiesto and i'd want to see him again but i would way rather see him in a club like the palace or metro, because clubs are ten times better than tweaker arenas with those retards who bring blankets and sleeping bags and then set up camp inside the rave
all sleeping and lying down on the ground why do you do that, pay like $40 to go and lie on the ground at a dance event whatever i'm off topic, so now that i'm pretty sure defstar is planning a tiesto show, where would be the best place to have him spin at? like i said i'm all for the palace or metro or some club in calgary....but just as long as he gets brought in i'm happy

shit, what's the sites name? I want to vote to!

I'd ask for no age restriction. but this means prolly no club, cuz the clubs get more money from the drinks they sell.

more, I'm not over 18, so...

I'd preffer him to be in Van. but then, prolly with my luck he will not even be brought here.

the site is called electrocalgary.com
you'll find the defstar tiesto post in the message boards.

Definately the Palace. For all of those who've seen a show at the Palace (eg. Nick Warren, Judge Jules, Max Graham)you'll probably agree. Absolutely amazing crowd effect. I think that the DJ's really think Calgary is something special when they spin at the Palace and get a packed house like there was for those shows. It's awesome when they're spinning above everyone on the left stage and everyone's going nuts and screaming.

If Tiesto was to come, he'd fill the Palace with people guaranteed. And Defstar could probably charge a fairly high tickect price too.

I would go and pay every penny of it.

Club over rave 4 me. that way if I pick up, I dont need to worry if shes just some hooched up 15 year old

yeah but j-spot if you did pick up a chick at a rave you would'nt even need to take her home , you could just go to her tent on the top of the bleachers....hahaha jk
yeah for sure the palace but i think defstar is thinking rave so that they can make more money, ie:ascension tiesto will pack any venue he gets put at so who knows.

i'm down with anything
clubs are cool cause there's no little phucked up kids running around
but raves are cool because there's more room to dance and usually the visuals are a lot better i.e.- big vid screens and cool lights

i've never to been to palace in calgary. how does it compare to the guvernment in toronto?

Posted by j_spot on Oct-20-2001 23:15:

from what I know, its our best looking club..and can fit the most people. but it doesnt even come close to comparing to the Guv.

When Tiesto was in Edmonton playing at Parliament he ROCKED the place. It was jammed in there wall to wall to wall to wall! Unbelievable night. Easily one of my faves.
I'd DEFINATELY rather him play at a club. I mean, I love parties and all but the clubs are soooo much more fun. I think so at least. It'd be great if Tiesto came back to Edmonton (or Calgary... I'd definately make the drive for that. Who in their right mind wouldN'T?!!!!??!).
Who knows though... defstar hasn't proven to always be the most trusted production company. True, Keith has brought quite a bit of sweet talent, but he has also let us down a few times. Oh well, I guess we'll see. I know I'm hoping for hte best!

well i heard from some peeps (very reliable source) that defstar and another co. have got the rights to tiesto in dec. of this year and want to put on a rave with him headlining it.
nothing is confirmed obviously but it makes alot of sense to me just because of all the shit i've heard (keith said he was trying to book him) and read on electrocalgary.com(forums-tiesto at a rave)so whatever if they're going to do this they better make it right.
better not be at max bell, or firepark, round up centre would be rough with a ton of lights and platforms and one of those things that calgary parties seem to hate what are they called....? oh yeah lasers
bring out a fuckin laser for fuck's sake they make a night 50 times better just by shining in your face and when a bulid up is just tripping you the hell out there's nothing better than reaching for the damn laser, shit i might rather even go stand in front of one somewhere with a tiesto cd and a discman and just have my own party instead of hearing him in some dull room with no effects...well that's going a little to far but you get my point and i'm sure alot of you agree, esp. if you went to gatecrasher they know what's up.

I went to the electrocalgary webstie... keith posted another message after some more peoople replied to his. He said that he wasn't actually planning on bringing Tiesto and that his post was more so a hypothetical question/sitation to seee what peoples thoughts were on having 16+ or 18+ parties.
But who knows... there's always a chance....

Posted by Tony Morello on Oct-24-2001 03:36:

that's the only reason why parties are good at the palace... the laser
ahh, memories, how trippy it was with the gatecrasher stealth laser...
ooohhh... i'm getting the E-shivers again

well i was told that boodang and defstar share the rights to tiesto in december, whether that's true or not who knows but the person who told me has no reason to lie so.....

Posted by j_spot on Oct-24-2001 18:30:

shockwav..arent you friend w/ the boodang boyz?

is it true?

Id would be sweet to see a TRANCE DJ

but here the thing, keith(Defstar) is bringing N.America talent, like BBB and such...Who is a great n.american trance DJ?

I think if we found a few and suggested them, something might happen.

Posted by <tuss> on Oct-24-2001 19:18:

well i've had some thoughts on people keith could book.
first off he can book anyone he wants to bring. all he has to do is contact the agency and then set a date on when he wants to have his party, settle on a date and a price and voila superstar dj in calgary.
they're not going to say no to gig it's their job.
last year imperial tried to bring godskitchen with ferry corsten i still have the damn flyer, but he cancelled for some reason, probably cause imperial are dorks. i think a godskitchen night in calgary would rule, that's probably pretty tough but they did bring gatecrasher so who knows....another thing that would be cool would be a dutch trance night with like johan gielen or dj cross or marco v or someone like that, all three can be booked through the same agency it's called anna agency or something. or since keith must have a pretty good contact with someone at gatecrasher why not have a GC 3.0
and bring someone super hard like scott bond to headline $$$$ is what that is. i wish i had my own company cause i'd try damn hard to book these people because they all = $$$$. also i think theme parties are where the money is to ie: ibiza party/nick warren do you really think all those peeps at the palace were there for nick? i don't, i think they saw all the hype on ibiza and figured it would be a party worth hitting, which it was. speaking about the NA scene for trance dj's, there are'nt that many, the US is mainly house but why not george acosta? he plays sweet trance and would definetly rock a party here.
i think we should kidnap keith tie him up in a basement and make him listen to trance for days until he says he'll bring some and decide to lay off the prog. house a little bit haha, that would work but i think i'll just talk to him sometime soon when he calls me up for promo work and feed him some ideas.
