Ashlee Simpson - Peices Of Me (29 Palms Vocal Remix)

Finally heard this on Oakenfolds weekly mix on sunday, how long has it been out?

That break down, wow. If I didn't know that the original was a pop hit by a singer who just recently got busted for lip syncing, I'd say this tune is amazing. But knowing it's roots, and just the remixing itself, it does have it's cheeseyness.

None the less, awesome tune.

it's sorta ok, not anything i would expect from pete lorimer, it's way to cheesy for him, but i think with simple editing you can remove that cheesy synth that is being played twice in the track and and also remove other elements

I may have to check this tune out, because I can't imagine how it could be good.

The bassline is rugged on this. Too bad there isnt a dub.

there is

Oakenfold should have her at his shows lip-syncing the vocals.

No, he should just project that clip from Saturday Night Live on a screen in a loop while the song is on.

nice tune just as most pete lorimer tunes are.

the vocal only exist in the breakdown, I'm not sure if it's the dub but a very powerful breakdown /build up indeed.

I like it a lot. I was surprised how good it is.

I think DVJs were invented just for this to be done by Oakey.

WOW! This track probably suprised us all. I love the breakdown alot. The vocals go perfect with it. Wicked bassline aswell.

Thumbs up

This track ends up on my playlist frequently and I've been playing it for some time now. Good stuff.

indeed. it makes me think of Ryan Cabrera and brings tears to my eyes. they were just so perfect for each other. best friends. and what could be better than kissing your best friend?

if i like it, i'd feel betrayed by myself, like if saw a big buff guy and found myself attracted to him. i'll check it out, nontheless.

Posted by sym on Nov-18-2004 07:38:

eh its allright, bassline was indeed good. A dub would be nicer i think.

definitely a little cheesy though.

If you like this try: Sun - One with You (29 Palms Pete Lorimer Club Mix), it's even better!

me too, i really like the breakdown, the last half of the breakdown doesn't sound like her but more like some emotional club vocalist or somethin, nice

Is this the same version as 29 Palms Remix Vocal Edit? That's the only version I've heard, which was due to curiosity over Oakenfold playing an Ashlee Simpson song. The end part isn't too bad, but overall it's nothing to special. I think I'm going to switch some things around and maybe play it then.

Posted by montana on Nov-19-2004 10:16:

no, the vocal edit is the radio edit of the 29 palms mix, the full version is 7+mins
