Numark Battlepack

Ok, first thing is please don't say to me to just save up and get technics. I seriously can't afford it. Not everyone can afford technics.

Im looking at:

2 numark tt1625's
1 numark dm950 mixer
headphones
and all leads.

all that for 150 pounds. I am a beginner and have been wanting to DJ for years, but never have been able to afford. I saw this package, it is direct drive too. You can't really go wrong for 150 can you? i'm only starting out..

thanks
chris

If you're starting out on a very tight budget, why not start with CD players? Music is cheaper so spinning will be more enjoyable.

CD players are a lot more expensive for equipment compared to TT's, though. Even the cheapest CD decks cost as much as high end TT's(I think).

Yea sounds like a good idea. I just thought that as i'm a beginner and wantign to DJ, this setup would be perfect. It's not that bad is it. At leats it's direct drive and you can actually mx with it. The reason i'm glued to this package is because my mate had something similar to this and he did a gig with it and it was great! He had the dm950, he sed get them for starting out on, then buy a betetr mixer later one. He now has technics after 18 months using these.

I started out on these about 3 years ago and im stil using them just now (although hoping to upgrade very soon!).iv never had any bother with them.

Sounds good then. I just can't afford technics. I would get technics if i had the money but i havn't unfortunately. I guess it's actually better getting the low ends ones to see if your going to like it, and not spending over a grand. Spending a couple of hundred will do jyst fine for some little equipment. But it really gets to me when people have a go and just shout technics in capital letters all over the screen. I mean everyone arn't rich. Yea, maybe if you are a little older and have a good job then yea you would be able to afford it. But i go at college so it's kinda hard to find that much money.

contrary to popular belief, you can actually put a set together on tt1625's

they are pretty much the same as the decks i first bought after fucking about on my mates soundlabs, they are great decks to learn on and they really make you concentrate on the important stuff.
