Yoji Biomehanika

Here in Toronto, Canada not too many people know about Yoji Biomehanika because he hasn't done any live shows here but he is still the best dj in my opinion. Flawless mixer and a true entertainer with a different but futuristic look. Caught my attention with the different look and image but listened to his stuff and was impressed with his hard and unique style. He moved up by 37 spots to climb to #33 on the DJ MAG rankings this year

Anyone else know about Yoji Biomehanika? Like him or hate him or what?

i think he's good stuff. watched the stream from sensation black and he rocked it. quality

Yeah he's a good entertainer, and his music's good too. Even if he does look a bit freaky with those bright orange dreadlocks.

I heard a rumour that Yoji is coming to Toronto in the near future.

Yoji rocks! He will be here in Holland again on the fourth of December!!
And his set at Sensation Black set was the most awesome set I've witnessed that night....

You should try his cd's too (If you don't have them already ) 'Music for a harder generation' seriously kick butt...

I also heard this rumour as well and if he does come to Toronto then people will become much more aware of him and Yoji-mania will be run wild in Toronto

If Yoji comes to Toronto I would not miss that show for the world!!!!!:

my third favourite DJ after PVD and K90

seen him a few times, fekkin rocks it

gets his engineer (or used to at least) to physically wire the decks up to spin at +14 during his sets

look at the heaven - CHA-OOOOOOOOOOON

almost totally un-known fact: i met Mr Biomehanika when he came out of slinky in bournemouth, at about 4:30am after a night. street was almost deserted apart from me, mates, him and his record guy. Shook hands with him, if i'd had a camera, i would have a pic of me and him.

Yoji is amazing DJ and a producer to say the least. I was blown away by his set on Sensation Black. Best hard set in a long time. Among his productions, hardstyle disco and samurai are still stuck in my head.

His set at Sensation Black was on fire right from the start with his interesting intro and hard tracks all the way through along with his mixing

I have Yoji's Music For a Harder Generation Volume 2 which is pretty good stuff and is a double cd with 31 songs on it

Apparently Yoji was a rock star in a rock group in Japan before he became a dj Yoji is GODZILLA is Japan and they have Yoji watches and all kinds of neat stuff like that

havent seen him live yet, but from listening to his sets, albums, I think hes really cheesy..definite Japanese trance influence there, but his mixing is great. his productions are all super cheesy also apart from RAIN/Samurai EP which I quite like.

I totally loved Yoji's set from Sensation Black, I hope he plays again there for Sensation 2005 for me to witness him live!

Posted by Dj Dissent on Nov-24-2004 09:46:

His set at sensation Black was quite good, but what really cracked me up was his interview afterwards...this guy talks like Borat (of ali G)...Fucking funny guy..I laugh at him (not with him)!!

..I just dont like his arrogance of a rockstar he's got according to some ppl here.

if u want to hear some of yoji's early works - he wrote a few of the presets for roland's mc505 and mc307. That was way back before he dyed his hair pink.
