John 00 FLeming vs M.I.K.E. - Dame Blanche

The follow up to 'ice cream' hits the stores finally on December 17th. 2 mixes on the j00f recordings release, of which I got the promo to last week.

John's mix is very much in the same style as his mahadeva mix, both structurally and in the kick sample. it works very well and leaving the main melody until 5 minutes is both clever and daring, definitely one best played loud - 9/10

Miika Kuisma's remix is more melodic, with a great ambience to it, the highlight being a great breakbeat at 3:30 ish. 9/10 for this one, very impressed with it

Both are really worth owning and both original and non-cookie cutter which makes them very good.

this is peak time stuff!

yeah, I'm very impressed with this, I wasn't the biggest fan of 'ice cream' but these 2 mixes of this are worth it

Another smashing release from JOOF. Prefer miika's remix but I'll play the other flip too.

What, no M.I.K.E. remix this time?

not on the j00f release anyway... maybe theres a m.i.k.e. edition on club elite or something ?

i heard fleming play this about a year ago when he was in nyc... finally comin out. cool.

Heard the J00f Mix, and I think the dark, psyinspired soundscape he introduced on the Mahadeva remix works even better here. Plus, I'm a sucker for that superb, pounding kickdrum he has put together here as well. Good shit, and refreshingly edgy stuff in the sea of fluff that trance is drowning in nowadays. Now to hear Miika's version.

interesting! can't wait to hear this one.! joof recordings seems to be my fav label. putting out lovely tune after another and another.

yeah since they've sent me promos to review this year there's been some superb stuff, esp one man army, beetseekers & this release, plus AR52 - Enigma and steve birch's tunes... much better label atm than stuff like anjuna & armada imho

i totally agree. and then there's the new miika kuisma ep coming out soon too, which is brilliant (as you can expect). i'm a big fan of the joof recordings sound. it's what i love in trance. i have bought most of their releases on cd too. i'm only missing a few newest ones, and i'll definitely order them soon too and probably most if not all the stuff they'll release in the future.

Dame Blanche just rocks.
the j00g vs. mike dark sound just kickass...
i really liked ice-cream, and now this...wohaaa

Posted by Syeker on Nov-19-2004 01:58:

The tune does sounds like Mahadeva but i think the lead doesn't have enough energy like i'm not fooled, still i just love the damn song. A psy remix maybe..

I REALLY liked John '00' Fleming vs M.I.K.E. - Ice Cream (M.I.K.E. Remix) so I'm really looking forward to this release. I have heard the original on a mix comp I bought (can't remember which one I buy so many) and I liked it.

Very much looking forward to the Miika Kuisma remix of this track

Posted by AlphaStarred on Nov-19-2004 22:02:

if i recall, i've heard either the orig. or Miika Kuisma's remix on Joof's Exposure Festival 04' set..pretty tight

My saving grace on that one is the breakbeat section with the bass how it is, sounds really good when I put my speakers up loud

Still a bigger fan of J00Fs mix tho, the build in it is incredible, no breakdown within 2-3 minutes like a lot of trance has atm

Posted by RebeL9 on Dec-01-2004 11:44:

Dame Blanche is massive. Especially the J00f remix.
This dude can do nothing wrong?
J00F Recordings is deff. the best label out there now.
Watch out for the new Digital Blonde EP coming out soon. Karma, Cyan and Casca :XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This going to be a massive release, already heard it a few times an can't say different then: Oh My God

Miika Kuisma Remix does have a massive break...
