WHAT I WROTE:

To whom it may concern;

I am just writing to say that your station is putting out more than
just plain rubbish these days.

I have the misfortune of being subjected to your mindless broadcasts
whilst at work, and I must say, after 8 hours of shallow, thoughtless
material, I would rather suffer a knife to the eye.

Do you really enjoy knowing that you are adding to the stupidity of
the nation? By telling them "what they want to listen to", drawing
from a music library which seems to be limited to 20 songs a day-
repeated until the day is over, and then having announcers that laugh
at thier own non-funny weak humour?

Yes, the announcers. My God, they are certainly the last thing I want
to hear in the morning. Every 30 seconds they seem to be possesed by
some unholy fit of convulsions, which I later worked out as to be
laughter.

You aren't "totally different" you're mind-numbingly the same. I don't
know why you have so much support. It really shows the ignorance of
Australians in this day and age.

Would a little variety hurt? Maybe a dash of substance? Or is this
email only going to be read and discarded by someone much on the same
level as the majority of your listeners?

Anyway keep up the abusive emails.

If it's possible I think that the Triple-M here in Melbourne is even worse (you guys only have one Austereo station over there, right?). The music policy seems to just take the worst 10% of music played on Fox FM (i.e. the wussy-rock and angsty, pre-teen faux-punk crap), play every song at least once an hour and then mix it up with overplayed, bogantastic Aussie-crawl tracks that were shit in the 80s and are even shitter now. Fucking hell, after a couple of hours of being forced to listen to that shit at work you actually start thinking that you wouldn't mind hearing some Britney or some Delta just to break up the monotony of the regular Triple-M playlist which consists solely of songs featuring:

1) Guitars (any kind is okay so long as they're incapable of producing any sort of melody whatsoever).

and

2) Wailing, atonal, male vocalists.

I mean, is there really any way to listen to this station unless you drive a ute with half a dozen Jim Beam stickers on the back window?

Bring back Kiss.

So true, Triple M was shite with their nothing later than 1985 rock, but they are worse now they changed to try to beat NOVA with their nothing but pop-rock-cheesey dance. You are pretty accurate with your description. One thing you forgot to mention is their 1 song, 8 commercials programming.

Thats why I pretty much listen to nothing but CDs or Fresh, maybe NOVA if I'm really struggling.

2Renegade: We have two Austereo stations, so we get it twice as bad. SAFM was what Triple M is now, but Triple M became what they are to try to beat NOVA by playing the exact same music but shitter, and SAFM removed anything except cheesey pop, and 80s one hit wonders. Then theres that incredibly annoying breakfast crew (worse than Triple M's by far!)

Most of the big nightclubs around here are trying to suck the proverbial cock of the Austerio network which pisses me off. Yay we can pay overpriced entry to hear some cheesey commercial DJ playing crap tunes... mmm no thanks.

that dickhead Timbo from Triple M and those ****s on the shabang are bottom of the barrel choices for Radio presenters...

i refuse to listen to triple m these days, because of that cockmonkey they call Timbo..

The sheila presenter who was on The Panel last night is also a bit of a tart, a highly annoying tart.

I seem to only listen to Triple M at 11pm to 6am usually driving home from a night out, they usually put on a few decent tunes when theres no cockhead presenters trying to crack non funny jokes

haha and oh before i forget... GOOD ON YA GUMBLE!!... Although most of this bitching will falls on deaf ears, if we gather enough hate support, we might actually encourage some change.

they just recycle the same old garbage and due
to 'fads' and 'pop/rock' music we are in the minority
so rather then bother listening and providing feedback
which will fall on deaf and dumb ears, we need to petition
to get a radio station that WE can enjoy

i have completely given up on austereo networks.. mick molloy has gone down the shitter.. and kyle just pisses da hell outta me on 2Day FM.. so da only time i can enjoy radio is saturday nights with Cam and Tom Brown on Nova!! they rock!!

I now officially hate Wil Anderson (always hated Lehmo).

He was losing his appeal towards the end of the Glass House series, but since he's been on MMM.... Its awful.

Althogh, MMM is more bearable than SAFM (2Day FM is it called in syd?).

The radio got briefly switched to that for a couple days at work. I didn't know any of the latest chart hits, but fuck they are getting worse!

For the people in Adelaide, mildly amusing story...

Amber Petty, who I believe is a host on the radio there, grew up in Melbourne and we are reasonably friendly with her and her Dad.

One day she called him up and said "hey, Dad, I'm in this competition in a magazine, can you please ring up and vote for me?" He says, "sure, no problem", and rings up literally seventy times to put in votes for her.

At this point he thought, "hmmm, maybe I should buy the magazine", does so, and opens it up to find the competition: which radio personality would you most like to root?

...and he put in seventy votes for his own daughter.

He reckons that after that he rang up and put 30 in against her, but she ended up winning anyway.
