New Uplifting Trance Track - 'Ligaya/Barbers Adagio' styled track

Please have a listen to this track - I am pretty pleased with it.
Unfortunately the file got corrupted before I could completely sort out the volumes, so in the long strings breakdown - there may be some slight clipping issues, but nothing major.

But - about the song - I made it to have an epic feel to it - so please tell me if you think I've achieved this.......thanks in advance. It is called 'Stairway To Heaven'.

Sup Ricky,

This is immense mate. Sound quality is crisp and smooth. Love the distorted feel to the bassline during the build up. Strings are beautiful, really melodic and mellow. Altough, kinda sounds like my speakers are about to blow during the sequence...

Love the ferry corsten-esque effect with the faded melody. Synth is heavy and deep. Really cushty tune mate. Impressive.

nice track and break. nothing to say, will come into my playlist

You ARE aware that Stairway to Heaven is an existing (and extremely incredibly famous) song by Led Zepplin, correct? Change of name might be appropriate so that people aren't confused as to whether this is a remix or not, considering Stairway to Heaven is one of the most infleuntial songs in the history of rock music.

That being said, listening....

I'd bring the bassline and synths in much much later, no dj could spin this as it as right now because there's too much going on right away.

Otherwise, not much to say, solid epic trancer. Not really my style but nobody can argue that its not well produced. Good work.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Thanks as well for pointing out the problem with the name of the song - I completely forgot about Led Zepplins song!! Need help with a new name therefore...

I know you mentionned this in your first post, but you really need to upload a new version - it's clipping all over the place. If you fix that I'll give it another listen, but at the moment it's distorting like mad.

What I did manage to listen to sounded pretty decent, if a little z3ta'ish. The breakdown pads sound excellent, what did you use for them?

nice trancer, quality production's very good.

the melody is beautiful, but doesn't really catch me, no idea why... too long maybe, or not fast changing enough... might be a matter of taste though

so, good work, congrats, & thx for sharing

Hey Ricky!
It's was truly epic indeed! Very nice sounds. Lush pads, hard hitting arpeggio, cool beat.. Nice percussion! The arp that's faded in and out in the beginning - it's a little to obvoius that it's a superwave. Other than that it's excellent!
Cheers mate

I wouldn't worry about that really.. even the dance music history is full of replica names but that has never changed much.. Primer 'Everlast' for instance, you dont really go back to The Ambush 'Everlast' or the none-dance group Everlast (which are huge).

needs mastering
and so fucking cliched it's gay
but it's amazing fun
rave gimps all over the world deserve to be listening to this

Posted by Klangzentrum on Nov-18-2004 19:14:

Beijer mate - it was Vanguard

Thanks AV and Klang - it does need mastering - but the file got corrupted before I could finish it - and that MP3 was the best quality I had.

There's a difference. That's a very simple, nonspecific name. There are some songs that stand out enough that its best to avoid them simply to save people from confusion. Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin is one of them. You wouldn't name a song Billy Jean or Hey Jude either, would you?

Posted by RickyM on Nov-18-2004 22:17:

I see your point - now give me a name for the song then!!!

Hey Ricky, I'm returning the favor
A really great track you have here, very pumping. The only fault I can find is that between 1 and 2 mins there seems to be some distortion, unless that's intentional?

I'll be keeping this one, good stuff

ya that distortion really was to much.

I don't know why distortion should be intentional..remaster it to at least -0.5 db. and check the levels of the mix.

Further i agree with the melody it's nice but it didn't catch me either.

Thanks Massive for your comments - BUT if you look at my first post I explained why I couldn't master it! - The file got corrupted!! So I couldn't....
