-- AudioGalaxy going Downhill ?!?!

Question AudioGalaxy going Downhill ?!?!

The past week i've been looking for popular dj sets from Sasha or Pvd at big events and the only results i get are the big X. Almost half the live sets are restricted and some really good tunes out there are also restricted. What the hell is going on here. Could AG be pulling a napster.

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Oct-16-2001 03:16:

I have noticed alot more songs aren't available anymore...

Confused

i myself couldnt find some of PVD's stuff

ya many many x's. So i just turn to my trusty kazaa. It may be slower but i usually find whta i'm looking for.

Evil1

i can never find anything on kazaa, in fact it takes the piss when i cant even find angelic - "stay with me" come on how much more pop trancey can you get?! a lot of live sets on ag r being blocked now but theres so many scope for finding tunes thru typos on their they could never pull a napster using there current system mwuahahhaa.

i dont think its getting that bad yet..only like huge artists like pvd etc are being affected..the only thing thats annoyin here is that a song u really want thats popular will always have a good kbps yet when it has an "x" u must get it from the next 1 down in the list and usully u must settle 4 a crap kbps i used 2 get at least 192 all the time and now im settlin 4 128 far 2 often!!

Posted by Dj Lex on Oct-16-2001 14:48:

Hmm i have bno problems with it. I can find anything I want and about the red x's there are always other names for so search a bit further and you will find it

I tried using AudioGalaxy a long time ago. Nothing would ever download and just stay in queue. Geesh, compile that with its spyware, why use it?

I've been using Morpheus for months now. Occasionally I have trouble finding new stuff.

I personally don't see the problem with sets in 128...I can hardly tell the difference, and its almost twice the file size if its 192. Mad suq.

Audio galaxy in by far the best audio leeching program out there.
And whats happening in there looks pretty normal too me, AG just wants to stay alive they dont want to get closed like Napster, thats why they close the tunes that needed copyrights!

lets hope that AG will stay up for alot more time!

Posted by DJAdamSmith on Oct-16-2001 18:45:

I've been coming up on a lot more songs being "Copyright Restricted". I still find the stuff I'm looking for, I just can't download it!!

Posted by kluba_702 on Oct-16-2001 19:20:

definitelty more Xs than ther used to b, but a little clever searching will usually get u what u want

........and 128 kbps is good enough for me

Posted by discojoe on Oct-16-2001 20:07:

I dont know I havnt noticed any x's.. just look for the individual names of the songs and there shouldnt be a problem... just dont search for 'paul van dyk' and you will find what you are looking for

Posted by FoXford on Oct-16-2001 20:20:

holy poo poo

i have only just got what every1 was on about...before i would c and x at the topand get the 1 under it but..i just typed in marco v -indicator and almost every single 1 has an x!!thats unbelievable...looks like ag has been hit bad..it seems 2 be gettin worse quick...couple of months and it may be purely uselesshope not tho

Posted by indianamike on Oct-17-2001 01:23:

Yep, audiogalaxy is now another napster--dead. And WinMX sucks. Anyone have recommendations?

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Oct-17-2001 02:09:

Seems that they're blocking anything that has been ripped from a CD or has the CD name in the title too...this sucks AG was great but I don't know what's happening to it Well sounds like it's time to find a new program...

Posted by TranceLudak on Oct-17-2001 02:48:

why don't you guys use NAPSTER!!!Still the greatest musicfinder!!!

Posted by Stanza on Oct-17-2001 02:55:

No I think there's nothing wrong with AG.
Still works for me when I search for Global Underground Albums from many popular DJs.

If there is something worng then it must be some bug in AG.

Posted by Galaxy on Oct-17-2001 03:03:

bug?

i hope it's a bug. something like this happened before to me like 2 months ago or something. when i typed in dj tiesto's name, every single file was "x"ed. a few days later, the "x"s were gone. hopefully it's the same thing 'cause i love ag.

Posted by Taub on Oct-17-2001 06:37:

its time to find another alternative to AG...its dead.....all songs that are copyrighted wont be searched/shared on the satellite....so guess what.....less and less songs to dl....all songs by dido have been taken off....most songs by picotto have been taken off.....the big "X" sucks

Posted by kurai on Oct-17-2001 16:34:

Same happened to me.. this is going to be a huge problem.. I can't find a lot of stuff I usually wanted to check.. damn damn!!!!

I really liked Napster, but I got kicked off for d/ling a new song(Sony Records had my IP banned ). Now, it seems like Audiogalaxy is out the window, though, because it's having the exact same problem.

BTW, I have trouble d/ling songs from this site in the first place, which is why I use AG.
