i just found out a lady i knew was killed in iraq, i just passed by the counter on my kitchen and i see my roomates newspaper and on the front cover she is.. she was shot in the head they say... its sad and wierd at the same time.... im conffused

My condolences for your loss. That's rough. I new a guy in college that committed suicide. I didn't know him very well, but it was still a very weird feeling, so I how you feel, at least a bit.

i didnt know her really good.. in fact not much at all..

but she ate in my house once... and i just rememeberd talking to her.. and eating with her.. its just wierd!!! i do feel bad still. i only met her once

my dad knew her cause she works with her... and she went to el salvador once for a big meeting and thats when i met her.. it was jsut wierd the way i found out and then just looking at her face on the newspaper reminded me how i had eaten with her and talked to her about a bunch of shit

That woman was inspiring and selfless; she lived in Iraq and helped Iraqis... and look at this, another senseless slaying of the last person who would ever deserve it. I read about her a long time ago and admired her... And when I saw that headline it chilled my blood...

This must be a weird situation for you. My condolences to anyone who knew her, and nchs09, maybe this will inspire you to some extent...

I didn't know the guy well, but I had hung out with him at least 2-3 times and seen him around campus on numerous occasions. I know exactly how you feel. It's like shock. Even though they weren't your best friend, it is weird to reflect on them being gone for good. Just keep your head up and move forward. Nothing can be done to change the situation, but you also need to respect the fragility of life as well.
