Increasing Torque on Tech12s

Well look what I found, this seems to be nothing new, but you rarely hear about it, this is talk of changing some resistors in the Techs to increase the torque, as it is said that Technics put a limiter on how much torque the 1200s dish out, this for most people will be useless as they already have a good amount, unless your a heavy handed scratcher, but does anybody else know of anything like this, or have done it themselves.

Changing Technics Torque

hmmm interesting. certainly a technics deck with 2kg/cm torque would be great!

if someone finds 100% fool-proof bang on proof that this works, i'll get my soldering iron out

Well in that link, there is one guy who did it and it worked, but he had problems when starting and stopping the motor.

Honestly, just when you think you can't do anything more to a Tech deck......your proven wrong.

So far its:
Stobe lights
Reverse switch
Pitch control
Popup light
Brake adjustment
Various LEDs
The actual shell of the deck
and now motor torque.

LOL...yea, should be by now.

You pay all that money for a deck and all the features are DIY... shit they should market it in kit form.

anyone have links to any guides telling you how to change these things? I want to make mine blue or green

I changed out all my leds.... strobe, popup, and RPM selector.
Buy the conversion kits from a guy named chipforbrains on eBay. Just look up his user name, he always has kits on sale and they do work.
Then, ask me if you need more help or some hints I picked up while changing out mine.

i've got the blue led kit from chipforbrains, works great, i still need to change out my pitch led and pop up light. the stobe led/ speed leds were really simple though

what exactly is toque?
and why would increasing it make that deck better?

Torque is basically how much power the motor has, and the more it has, the better it can maintain a perfect speed, and will catch up to the set speed if you slow down the platter, think of it as horsepower on a car.
