Corruption!

last night im playing GTA:SA. Ive already finished the storyline, and have just finished robbing the casino. I saved, and since I was bored, decided to dick around. I got the Hydra, flew past area 69, got some planes chasing me, and eventually ejected about 5 feet from the ground.
I died, so I just went to load from teh save point 4 minutes(real time) back

FILE CAN NOT BE LOADED. PLEASE CHECK MEMORY CARD(8MB) for PLAYSTATION 2 IS IN SLOT 1. NOW RESTARTING GAME.

O M G.
81% complete and now its CORRUPTED!
So angry.
yet somewhat relieved that I saved the game as another file, a little while back.
game progress mission wise is not my problem. Its tags and hidden items. I likely wont find them again!
ARGH!!!!

this stupid problem happened to me too while playing tony hawk's underground 2 , i was almost finishing the game then baaaaaaam it's corrupt

ok, so I loaded this file no problem, redid the mission, saved, died, loaded and GUESS WHAT

CORRUPT!
I was ~80% complete, now im back to the Reuniting the families mission.

Damn!! That suckx!!! So sorry to hear that. I'm about to start playing right now. I hope I don't get hit with that bullshit...
