-- How Do I Rename Files?
I was wondering how I would rename a wav file to a .bin file. Thanks
Hi!
Depends on the OS, you use.
On Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME simply open the windows explorer , right-click on the filename and choose "Rename" from the menu.
Or open a dos-prompt and type "ren anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".
On Linux change to the directory, the file you want to rename is in and type "mv anyfile.wav anyfile.bin".
Bye,
P.
On Windoze you might need to switch off the "Hide extension-name for known file-types" in the folder-preferences, in order to change the extension of WAV-files. A little Micro$oft feature to make your life easier...
I use always windows commander to rename the files.
Is fast and easy to use

Stupid??
Are you stupid or something???????? How did you get on the internet???? Renaming a file is not vert difficult, though????
Are YOU stupid?
Not everybody is a computer freak and if YOU are, think back 10 years. Did you know, where the power button of a computer is?
Additionally, to get on the internet, you needn't know, how to rename files. I don't know, how you establish a connection to your provider, but normally it functions without changing your files.
Laters,
P.
stumped me for ages as well...i use a program called renamer..works for me although might not be the best around, can email to you if you want
