Satan (eek!) pistons vs pacers

yo who the hell saw that fight?!?!?!

Posted by Vlad on Nov-20-2004 06:52:

I see the replays everywhere.

Lemme just say...

1. Ben Wallace got allttle too responsive after that Artest foul
2. The fans SHOULD NOT be throwing things at the players, thats fucking stupid.
3. Artest SHOULD NOT be jumping into the crowd assaulting fans, NO MATTER WHAT.
4. The other players should have tried to be professional and not get involved, but they did the complete opposite and started brawling with fans - stupid!

Posted by trunks1022 on Nov-20-2004 06:56:

1. ron artest did do a pretty hard foul with a 15 point lead or whatever it was, so that was unnecessary.
2. ben wallace will get suspended for his shove.
3. if you are coming in from the crowd and approaching players on court, you get whatever you deserve. hehe jermaine o'neal and artest really clocked that one guy
4. on the flip side of things, if you climb into the stands and start swinging like stephen jackson and artest, you're gonna get your ass suspended for a LONG time.

it'll be interesting to see what the league does

Posted by sandstorm03 on Nov-20-2004 06:57:

why shouldnt they fight with the fans? i didnt see the fight so i dont know what happened. but if the fans throw something at them, the fans deserve it. ive seen it hapen in baseball, and i would get pissed if i was a player and had stuff thrown at me.

sorry to step aside from the arguments here...but since i was watching the game live on espn.....that definitely had to be the largest incident of its kind in american sports history. I say american, because the soccer fans around the world see this at least 4 times a season. Nevertheless, I was sitting there with my jaw dropped...

Posted by verndogs on Nov-20-2004 07:37:

even though I know this comment is just wrong

jermaine o'neal gave what had to be one of the best sliding sucker punches to tha fan on the court I've ever seen

balrog eat your heart out!

Posted by Greedy on Nov-20-2004 11:24:

that fan had it coming. Unfortunately, the players will get suspended hard core.

Posted by ludawg23 on Nov-20-2004 11:33:

I do see some heavy suspensions but the player's association will definitely defend the actions of the players and why they did what they did. You need to understand that players regardless in any sport experience heckling and taunt everywhere they go. That incident between Wallace and Artest should have strictly been between them and as soon as fans start throwing stuff and running onto the court, it's legit every man for themselves and they did what any normal player would do, protect themselves and their teammates.

get out, dude..
Artest barely touches him on the arm.. watch espn SLOW review..
he didnt even keep the arm there, it was a slap, just enough to make Ben miss a shot and then he let go..
If someone throws ANYTHING @ me in the club, a game, etc, u bet your a$$ off, I will go after them, especially after someone sucker punches and pushes me and i am raging.. I hope Artest just gets a big fine... I am NOT pacers or Artest fan (yes, he is a bad boy), but in this situation he was totally provoked...

Just giving artest, jackson and o'neal a fine is unjustifiable and will open a pandora's box. That'll just give a green light to a player to go up and attack a fan because "they were insulting me with words!"\

Artest should have kept a cooler head. (yeah, I know it's asking A LOT from him).

The NBA better suspend their asses for a long time

only the morons that were on the court...

Posted by verndogs on Nov-20-2004 16:34:

out of all the articles I've read on this

Marty Burns article has to be the most unbiased of them all

that was a great sports fight, maybe tying the Heat-Hawks playoff riot in '94

maybe the pacers will now release artest so the knicks can pick him up...

The only thing Artest should be released from is the mental ward. Did anyone see his 5 minute rambling interview last week about wanting time off to promote his album. Scary!

Should Artest really go into the stands from a thrown cup? However, it's hard to say he should have been calm right then directly after the melee with Ben Wallace.

What about the legal side of things with the players. It's possible there will be criminal charges against some of the players, not just suspensions.

However, those fans deserve a beat down. The fan that came onto the court sure got his just desserts from O'Neil.

seriously i always wondered when artest became this crazy. I watched him in St.Johns and even the first few years of his career in the nba, he was the most quiet player i have seen. I don't know, did he let his talent go to his head?

O, and this definitely takes the crown from jeff van gundy handing on to Zo's leg

I remember when he played for LaSalle. He never had a problem losing his cool at all

Posted by amdmaxx on Nov-20-2004 18:52:

SELF DEFENSE!!! If I kick u with a beer bottle and u kick me back, how would u feel if u got suspended?

wow...David Stern with the hammer

Ron Artest
Stephen Jackson
Jermaine O'Neal
Ben Wallace

suspended indefinitely

Posted by amdmaxx on Nov-20-2004 19:46:

Totally agreeed..
David Stern is doing this (suspensions) to pretend that the NBA is taking measures and doesnt tolerate sh$t likethat.. When fans will forget about the story (not soon), nab life will resume.. This is SO NOT FAIR for the pacers who pretty much losing their 3 best players..
I cant see them go far with Austin Croshere and injured Reggie Miller..
