NBA Brawl

Not a big fan of the NBA but over last day or so have been enthralled about the riot in a detroit vs indiana game. The place went nuts with playerrs going in stands to confront fans and then it spilling onto the court. Gripping television, not even reality tv could of come up with something so good

cuts away at the bit when a cup of drink is thrown and hits an indiana player.. he then runs up and clocks the dude...

saw the replay, was pretty full on

Posted by 00soups00 on Nov-21-2004 07:54:

saw this on the news this evening

looks mad..

all triggered by a fan throwing a cup/bottle of drink at Ron Artest, and artest smashing the spectator.

also, jermaine o'neal lands a doozie of a punch on some spectator, and then some big black spectator lands some big blows

bad for the game

great to watch

hahaha classic!! crazy shit
i saw a quick thing on a news update or something earlier when i was on the phone, i just saw out of the corner of my eye what looked like a player running into the stands and belting someone, far out! there'll be a few hefty fines after that i reckon...

Posted by TranceForma on Nov-21-2004 08:26:

One of the players was seen holding a metal dust pan and threatening to use it. Imagine the damage if he did. Maybe he was thinkin it was time to take out da trash!

lol! i saw a chair as well haha

Maybe the NBA is about to merge with the WWE... thats one hell of a melee

Posted by NiNo LoCo on Nov-21-2004 11:47:

much better to watch this than the NBA

Indiana and Detriot have been HUGE rivals for the last couple years. Mainly because Indiana hasn't been able to beat them in the playoffs and I guess are getting kinda bitter about it. Either way, the first foul Ron Artest hit Ben Wallace with was pretty bad, he should have know the 6'10" black tank with huge afro would turn around and not let him get away with it.
All the players involved have been suspended indefinately, and a lot of the fans down there have already filed lawsuits.
Anyway, if you wanna see it, get it fast, cuz from what I heard, the NBA has been trying to contact all the television networks and trying to get them to stop playing the clips.

oooooh NBA has hoolie firms

The Indiana headhunters and Detroit's inner city firm

nothing mentioned on nba.com main page baout it

however i did notice in

'Team Spotlights'

Pistons: One-on-One with Ben Wallace

good to see you can now pay to hit the ring with Wallace

the power of the intarweb cannot be controlled nor restrained!!

Posted by Sly_Guy on Nov-22-2004 00:24:

suspensions have been huge:
ron artest [the guy who comitted the foul, first one to run into the stands] - rest of the season [73 games]
stephan jackson [guy who clocked the fan in the stands right behind artest] - 30 games
jermaine o'neal [the guy who hit the fan on the floor and fell down while doing it] - 25 games
ben wallace [the guy who got fouled] - 6 games.
Among other suspensions were 2 more 5 game suspensions, and a smattering of single game suspensions.

Ron Artest has always had a short fuse..even at several old clubs and the Bulls, which is one of the reasons they traded him. He is a big time player, made his first appearance in the East's allstar team last season and a huge blow for the pacers chances of once again having a crack at the eastern conference title.

Jermaine O'Neal has recently earned himself a regular spot in the US team although now i think they will think twice on who they want representing them after the blow out.

The punishments may seem pretty severe but how often do u see professional athletes lay such lethal blows to spectaters?? I think this will teach them a good lesson. Just shows that the NBA wont put up with it not now, not ever. The pistons will be happy big Ben Wallace got off with 6 games..he was one of the most influential players in the pistons outfit last season which helped them earn the title of NBA Champions.

this happened in an AFL game with a collingwood player by the name of Phil Carmen i think.. (or maybe it wasnt him) but it was definately a collingwood player, and he decked an ump and then ran and belted a fan and was baned for 13 years or something

maybe my stats are a bit but i think theyre accurate

doubt it. o'neal had an impeccable record prior to this altercation and he only got physical when all the goons got on the court trying to be badass. he has a right to defend himself. but im not condoning it either. stephen jackson is the one who inflamed and incited the violence to another level, his fists of fury did not discriminate. he hit anybody within his presence. he should have gotten a season as well.
