i myself would not be too worried about "first gigs" like this. i don't really think of it as a gig unless it's people who could really evaluate what i'm doing. not to say that you still won't be nervous, i know i was, but still, after a couple mixes (which hopefully weren't complete trainwrecks) all is good...

well....i was cool....first we had a problem with the mixer and the decks and we had to get them from the pub downstairs (same owner, we didnt steal anything)
and then all the chans on the djm600 (except chan 1) were bleeding everywhere....i couldnt mix with the eqs coz the slightest bass increase (and it was just a click abocve off) was destroying the music...i played for 90 mins out of 4 hours in total...well they prefer cheese pop/rnb music..cant blame them...nobody is perfect...i had a great time...next time i am gonna bring my mixer :P
