Help me decide on what to do for New Years

OK, it's basically two choices for New Years Eve....

In San Francisco:

On NYE, Ferry Corsten is doing a _FIVE_ Hour Set. Plus I can check out like D:Fuse & Derrick Carter around the corner if they are by chance doing In and Outs on NYE at Ten15. It's Possible.

Then on Jan 1, John '00' Fleming is playing at Ten15....and I need my J00F fix.

In Los Angeles:

Well, Tiesto for six hours at a venue w/ a shit soundsystem.

so now ferry is playing at midnight and for 5hrs?

Posted by DaveT on Nov-23-2004 02:30:

Ferry is playing at Ten15. he will come on at around 11:30pm and play for five hours.

He also plays earlier in the night at Planet New Year, a three hour set.

I'm in the same situation but I think I'm still leaning towards Tiesto.

Ferry is one of my two favorite DJs and his set at 1015 last February was easily the best night of the whole year. And even though I'm sure Tiesto will put on a good show, I would simply prefer Ferry's style of trance for a night like NYE.

But I've spent countless Fridays at 1015 over the past couple of years and would kinda like to spend NYE at somewhere besides the same old venues. Plus I don't even wanna imagine how crowded it will be; I can barely handle the crowd when it's simply a normal night with PVD or Ferry, let alone Ferry on the biggest party night of the year.

With Tiesto, I've only seen him once this year and enjoyed his set more than I expected. Also it's at a big and different venue in LA (where most of my NYE friends live anyway). And I figure, how many times am I gonna have the chance to see Tiesto in concert.

what's up, i'm wondering what the crowds are like @ 1015...
i'm hoping the answer is some smokin san fran honeys
i'm thinking abou't making the trip down for NYE, ferry and j00f are two parties that i could definately make the trip down for.
what about ticket prices?

So that means, you can go to both Ten15 and Planet New Year and combined you get an 8-hour FERRY SET... Interesting!!!! 8-Hours of FERRY.... I'm assuming Planet New Year is all ages!

Planet New Year will probably suck... so I'm not even going to bother.

I would see Tiesto @ Ruby Sky 12/15 and Ferry on NYE. Plus you have Derrick Carter for a nice change of pace.

You just know Ferry going to be a home run.

I'm jealous. Its looking barren down here NYE.

I have to vote tiesto, i guess i'm biast since i already got my ticket.

Posted by sweetcandy girl on Nov-23-2004 15:58:

I would vote for Tiesto too!!!

An almost 6 hr Tiesto "In concert" style set can not be missed!

However since I am a Ferry grouipe too I would see both of Ferry shows. Like woody said that is 8 hours of Ferry! All though you say "plant new years" is going to suck (why?) I would go just to see Ferry. Does a party really suck when Ferry is spinning?
( I didn't think so )

most definitely - who wants to spend another night in a club?

what makes nye in a club special? to me its just another night

i'd rather spend it with good friends at a house party and not deal with crowds and cheesy men

I'm thinking Ferry at 1015 and then J00F the next night.

Hmm well i think LA will have quite the spectacle with tiesto, doing his in concert theme. i wouldnt expect the sound to be great, it wasnt that great in arnhem last month either. but do expect to see the magical presence that tiesto seems to easly pull off everywhere he goes. As for ferry, i would really like to see him in san fran, ive never been to 1015, so it would be a nice treat to celebrate the new year in a new club. BUT i would like so much more to see tiesto at ice in vegas for day one. all that smog. and u have tiesto bumping adagio for strings, its just to much for the senses. so i myself am wondering what to do. but i am happy that i actually have all theses choices to think of rather then just go to someting like TAO.

i go for tiesto. ferry goes down here quite often.

Posted by knowname on Nov-29-2004 05:54:

Do what im doing, see tiesto at ruby skye, then again for new years. You can never have too much tiesto LOL.

Posted by DaveT on Nov-29-2004 19:37:

I will be seeing Tiesto at Ruby Skye.

Still up in the air for NYE. There's many factors, be in SF and party for two nights....go in LA, one night until 3am. That's a big turnoff.

Go in LA and pay $150 for both Tickets, go in SF and I could possibly get in for free, on both nights, if I am able to work things out.

The _only_ think that has me wanting to do Tiesto in LA is the fact that it's supposed to be somewhat like a "Tiesto in Concert," even though the only think mentioned so far that makes it sound like it is the singer from Holland coming (guessing Kristy Kershaw or whoever).

Tiesto is my #1 all time DJ. He has been my favorite since about 1998. But I have been disappointed by him the last two times I have saw him and while I still consider him my #1 DJ, he needs to do some adjusting before I can say "Go see Tiesto, he's a 100% guaranteed great time!" .... while I can say that for Ferry.

8 hours of Ferry is tempting... but I will have to skip Planet New Years too... can't really handle so many candy kids at Cow Palace... I was there last NYE and it sucked... so I will probably see Ferry at 1015 and then J00f the day after... plus, I will be seeing Tiesto at RS weeks before... woot~~~ woot~~~

Dave, NYE in SF sounds pretty good.

Turned in my Digweed tickets for some Tiesto tickets instead.

BTW, this Trinity

Posted by knowname on Nov-30-2004 20:22:

I remember seeing tiesto at mezzanine, i kept getting the crowd to chant TI-ES-TO! TI-ES-TO! what a great night. Ill be in LA for NYE for sure!

Smiling Frog

hahaha... I've been TSG (TrinitySpundaeGuru) for quite a while now but decided to shorten the name.
Since Spundae left Circus & will no longer be here in LA (as of Dec31) I'm giving up the gureness.

Just call me Trin

One of these days I'll go up there again.
