The Stupidest Poll You'll Ever Take!!!
sorry in advance
ok, my girlfriend and i were arguing over how to say this expression:
is it
1. I haven't seen you 'in' forever ...or
2. I haven't seen you forever
does the 'in' make any sense, or should it just be forever??? Thanks, now go.
Always say 'in' forever.
It may not be grammatically correct, but it sounds awesome!!@!
I haven't seen you in a long time.
Thats what i usually say
I'd go with the first one..
lol i dont think either are grammatically correct, but having to take my pic of the two id take the 'in'
Definately "in".

you guys have way too much time on your hands.......!!!!
so is it.... ON YOUR HANDS?? or IN YOUR HANDS????

'In' forever makes more sense to me... i hope you're not the one losing that argument hahahaha
^ you guys are horribly bruising me in this argument hahaha...my girlfriend loves it!
you're right, that was the dumbest poll ill ever take
I don't use either....I usually say "since" forever...
Or... I haven't seen you in a while?
"....in AAAAAAAAGEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Hmm, im not convinced its grammatically correct, but i say "in forever" when talking... so thats my answer!
'in' sounds so gay in that context

It should be "I haven't seen you in, like, forever!"
I had to say it a few times to see.....I admit to being grammatically incorrect.
haven't seen you in ages.... that makes sense because "ages" have time contained within them.
havent seen you since... last tuesday (or whatever) that makes sense because you're specifically referring to a past time when you did see the person
havent seen you in forever.... sounds better than saying havent seen you forever but grammatically I'm not so sure its right....
I'd put a smiley with the nerdy spectacles at the end of this post but I can't find one...
cheers
it has nothing to do with being grammatically correct, just if you were to use that extression, which would you use...
and yes, this is the stupidist poll you'll ever take...so what do i win???
forever = a long time.
haven't seen you in forever (a long time) is correct.
you wouldn't say i haven't seen you a long time.

actualyl both are very incorrect.
the only country ive heard that phrase being used is here in Canada.
usually heard by some ditzy teenie girl goin "like omg i havent, like, seen u in, like, forever"
maybe this has been said before
but
neither actually makes sense because "forever" is future tense and "seen" is past tense
BUT
in our wonderful slang it would mostly be "I havn't seen you in forever" much like "I havn't seen you in ages" or "I havn't seen you in a long time"
my $1.92
oh and "I havn't seen you forever" - would be like I havn't seen you in for a long time
long time and ever are sorta similar - so that could also be used
so youre both right.... er or wrong.... or umm hmm I dont know
