It is a little strange. Youd think that upon discovery of something as awesome as TA youd want to join and not just watch. How many new TAs join every day? Anyone know that? You could subtract that number from the "lurker" number then because you could say that those people are actually joining after they lurk... I dont know.

Well a lot of people could've been in my situation when I first joined:

see I forgot my password and I just lurked and browsed all day. Then I wanted to post, but i couldn't cos i didnt know my password

Same thing with a buddy of mine, he joined October 2003 but he hasn't posted a single thing because he's forgotten his password!

in most cases the guests are just the robots for search engines searching the forums for keywords etc, and in some cases some search engines will have multiple conections looking over the forums at a time
