Hamburg Trance Party 03.12.04 in ein Studentenwohnheim

Hi everybody!

Sorry for writing in English. But I'm french, and although I can speak a bit of German, I don't write it properly. So, I start this thread to make some advertising for a Trance Party. But it is quite special, because this party should take place in a student-house in Hamburg.

Let me explain... For the second year now, I'm responsible for the bar in Europa-Haus, a student house not far from Barmbek. I don't know if any of you have ever been to a student party by us. I would say it is quite nice, with the the really cheap drinks and so on, but after a while it gets boring, because you always hear maintream music. So for the second year now I'm trying to bring something fresh to our bar, with various events, and included in this....Trance Parties. It is not always as easy as one would imagine. The majority of the students are often suspicious when it comes to new things. But last year we managed to make a really nice Trance Party. So I still haven't given up the hope of bringing the electronic culture in the student houses in hamburg. I'll be behind the decks that night. If any of you want to check what the music will be about, they can download one of my mixes at the following adress:

http://music.globalbeatz.net/dj-mix-mp3/8465d/Emprou%20Corentin/Sunstroke

Username: salt
Password: lake

Those mixes are only exemples of sets. I've got many more records in slightly differents styles. So if you want to have a nice trance party with cheap drinks (beer 1, longdrinks 2) and a student atmosphere, you're all welcome!

The adress is : Europa-Haus, Kaemmererufer 14
The party is planed for the 03.12.2004 and starts at 22:00. If the date should somehow be postponed, I'll post a message. Any feedback would be pretty welcome. Thanks for your support.

Best regards. Corentin Emprou.

PS: I'll post a flyer and a map showing where the Student house is before the party.

Hi, Frank. I don't really get what you mean. Are you asking if you'll get anything out of this? If it's that, I can only repply that you might spend some time at a nice party. When I say that I'm asking for support, I don't mean social help. Thanks! The only point I wanted to spot was that this kind of event just doesn't happen enough in HH. And I just thought that it could be a start for something new as I can dispose of a party room, at a good location in the city, and that virtually anywhen as I'm the manager. If this one is a success, I'll try and do it more often and might try an organise myself with some of you who'd be willing to help me with playing music and serving drinks. The bar is not that small in fact. We've been selling more than 1000 beers in a night during some mainstream parties.

Regards, Corentin.

P.S: If somehow I got you wrong on what you meant, just tell me.

Ok,I've finaly finished the poster and the flyer. It took me quite some time to do them, but I'm happy about the result. Here are the previews. Tell me what you think!

Best regards, Corentin.

btw

i love your chillout mixes!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Corentin on Nov-24-2004 12:42:

Thanks to you. I'm glad you like them. To bad you're living far from Hamburg. I always play some chilled tracks at the end of parties, when the only ones left are the "ultras", and everybody's wrecked. See you mate.

this is a friday, so its bad for me... would like to come, tracklist of your mixes look good, but I have school next day, and I also think that I dont really belong in the people there, Im 18 and not a student, so most of the people there will be unknown to me and too old. I once was on a student-party but thats just nothing for me

Posted by Corentin on Nov-24-2004 14:05:

Hi, I understand that you've got school the next day. On this you make a point. Concerning the rest, I'm not sure you're right. There are quite some people in my "Wohnheim" who are not more than 19. If you speak about the student parties that take place in Uni, I understand what you mean. But with this party I'm trying to do the exact contrary of what those parties are. People just go there to get drunk and try and grab some girls (or boys for girls). They surely don't go for the music itself, because it's mainstream. And as some might say mainstream means for everyone, I've grown up to think it also means in a way for no-one. So maybe another time (if there is one). And don't think you're too young. If you'd been 16, I'd have said you might have been right. But that's not the case. Hope to see you turn out one day!

Gruss, Corentin.

one suggestion, corentin:

best advertisment for you would be to go to yokos party on friday, get to know some of the Hamburg GTAs (although thats probably less than 1% of the ppl going to trance parties here in Hamburg), go to Edelfett for the Tranceport on Saturday to meet some more GTAs, take some flyers with you etc.

That way ppl get to know you, know a bit better what to expect at your party etc.

Thats at least a way of "face2face" promotion, internet promotion is nice, but not really working in a small confined area of interest like trance, especially in Hamburg.

Regards and all the best for your party

Hi Net,

Thanks for your suggestions. You're right about it all. but I would say that when you don't really know a lot of people that are into trance, you find it hard to attend parties. And that's my case. I went alone to a couple of gigs (Tisto for instance). But it's not always as much fun as going with other people. And I'd add also that I find it hard to get informations about forecoming parties in Hamburg. I thought for exemple that transport didn't exist anymore. I was once there, and it was quite nice. But now that I'm promoting my own party, it stepped fot the first time into the GTA forum, wich is a good thing I see it now. I didn't know until yesterday that there were so many HH TA's. And I also came accross a couple of Forums and webpages which were quite interesting I must say (e.g: http://www.trance-synergy.de). And finally it's good that you told me Yoko was doing a party on Friday. I really want to see what he's doing. So thanks once again.

Corentin.

If you want to check out more info about the party on friday:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=221270

There are 2 other DJs who play different styles, but mine is of course the Trance part

About the trance.synergy page I'm sorry that we're not quite finished yet, but the rest should be done in about a week and then we will do the "official release" of that website

Sure, can understand that.
You might drop me a PM with your email, maybe a mobile# and maybe a pic/link to a pic of you.
If you come to Edelfett this Saturday, we can probably have a Sambuca at the bar and Ill introduce you to some ppl.

yep, was easier some time ago. There is no "central" website listing all events in Hamburg, be it house, trance, techno etc. Citybeat.de only does Bremen, for Hamburg it was pretty good couple of years back.
http://www.hh2nite.de/ mostly has house or "it gets all sorts" parties

Techno & trance parties are mostly announced only on flyers or mouth to mouth.

Probably easiest way to get started in Hamburg is for you now via GTA, although ppl around here are slighly biased towards anything else than a very specific style

EDIT: to get on the Tranceport mailinglist: either come to Edelfett and ask there at the door, where you can dot down your name or send your details to [email protected] and ask to be added to the mailinglist.

Hi Yoko!

I think I'll try my best to be there this friday to see you spin. But I've got some questions. Does this Party finish at 02:30 only? And is there a night-bus line crossing the surroundings? Thanks.

Corentin.

Thanks to you Net for your tips and for also for being so friendly. I'll try and see if I can come. It's like for Yoko's party, I don't know if I'll manage to come. anyways, I'll send you all the things listed above. So that maybe in the future, you can give me a sign per mail whenever there is some good Party. I'd really appreciate getting to know people sharing the same interest for trance. And i've got also a question concerning Saturday; how much does it cost? I went on the site, and they tell the price of every party, but nothing for this very one. Thanks.

Corentin.
