Am I the only one....
who doesnt actually think of my mother when somebody makes a mother joke?
Seems that some people are offended by it. I dont think of it as an insult to my actual mother. Its the same as "son of a bitch". It's so overused do people actually think of the bitch as being their mother? Do people actually picture an asshole when they hear the word? NO

me and my school buddies rip each others mothers to shreds everyday, if someone was to hang around us they would be in shock at the amount of jo mamma jokes that go back and forth.
none of us take it personally coz we all know that its jokes. if it was serious on the other hand it would be a different story. mamma's are fun to make fun of as long as no one is ofended by it. like jx1 said, you dont really think of your mamma when the jokes are made therefore they arent taken too personally; and when i make a yo mamma joke or comment im not really thinking of the person's mamma. its more like making fun of an imaginary person.
but i also see what angle dallas is comming from, people with deceased parents might not apreaciate it so in that case its not cool.

yeah but at the same time they have to remember that its not personal.
i mean how many people these days actually think of christ when it comes to christmas for example?
